Quad Cities Starz Girl's Lacrosse teams: My Site News
Sunday, November 8Middle School Girls Lacrosse Season - Definitely STILL ON!!!!
There will be at least 4 Starz Teams fielding Middle School Girls teams, and we will be one of them (Coaches TBD). All non-registered MS Girls at tryout, today (Sunday), must register, at a minimum for tryouts ($35) before the next practice, or they will not be allowed to practice/tryout. Please get the word out! This means NO 7th or 8th Graders will be included on our High School teams. All 7th and 8th graders wishing to participate in Starz this year, must do so at the Middle School level. Please help us out by recruiting a few more girls and, this is important, a GOALIE!!!
Starz Philosophy
The Starz philosophy is to provide an enhanced level of coaching, instruction, education and competition to players with a true passion for the game. QC coaching staff is comprised of coaches with top level playing experience and the same passion for the game that we seek in our players. We take this common passion as a starting point and use it as the catalyst to develop a family atmosphere with the hope of fostering friendships that can last a lifetime. By combining the best of talent and coaching, atmosphere and friendships, the Starz experience is sure to benefit the development of our young athletes and students.

FAQs
What team/division am I eligible for?
Guide to understanding the teams/divisions:
1) Players are divided by grade (not age).
| Elite & High School: | 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th graders |
| Middle School: | 6th, 7th 8th graders |
SUMMER SEASON = grade last completed
(The season runs mid June to early August.)
For example: Jane Doe just completed or will complete 8th grade in the spring. For the summer season, she is only eligible for the Middle School team NOT the Elite or High School team (see below for Elite/High School team). Once she enters 9th grade in the fall, then she may try out for Elite/High School teams and is no longer eligible for the Middle School team.
12th graders/Seniors: We ask that ONLY non-committed college bound 12th graders/Seniors tryout. Please no COMMITTED SENIORS. It is the goal of Starz/SD Rip to help in the college recruiting process and guide players to play beyond the high school level.
FALL/WINTER SEASON = current grade
(The season run mid November --> mid January)
For example: Little Jane Doe (who played for the Middle School team in the summer) is now a freshman in high school and is only eligible to tryout for the Elite/High School teams.
2) Players are divided by skill level and playing abilities. There is a NO CUT policy for the Middle School and Youth teams - there is a spot for any girl who wants to try out.
| Elite | The Elite team will be comprised of the best 9th-12th grade girls that include, but are not limited highly skilled, varsity all-stars. These girls have the ambition and drive to play college lacrosse. |
| High School | The High School team is made up primarily of underclassmen that are working at becoming the best. These players are developing to become part of the Elite team. |
| Middle School | There is only one Middle School team with girls from 6th-8th grade who have great potential, are eager to learn and love lacrosse. (No cuts will be made. Tryouts are for evaluation purposes only.) |
