Friday, November 13
MS Girls, please don't show up on Sunday until 10:30am.
For this Sunday, November 15th, Coaches will be fully focused on evaluating over 70 HS girls skills from 9-11am. So as not to conflict with that effort, and to provide the Middle School girls with an appropriate level of attention, we will be conducting the MS Girls first Practice from 10:30am-12:30pm. Parent Meeting from 10:30am-11am, so please hang around.
Sunday, November 8
There will be at least 4 Starz Teams fielding Middle School Girls teams, and we will be one of them (Coaches TBD). All non-registered MS Girls at tryout, today (Sunday), must register, at a minimum for tryouts ($35) before the next practice, or they will not be allowed to practice/tryout. Please get the word out! This means NO 7th or 8th Graders will be included on our High School teams. All 7th and 8th graders wishing to participate in Starz this year, must do so at the Middle School level. Please help us out by recruiting a few more girls and, this is important, a GOALIE!!!
Sunday, November 8
Great First day, but you'll all agree, we had way too many girls to accurately evaluate in only an hour and a half. Prior to next Sunday's continuation of Tryouts, EVERYONE must be, at the very least, fully and appropriately registered for Quad Cities HS tryouts ($35). I'll be sending out a reminder. Due to SD Rips numbers (>80 HS at tryouts), SD Rip is considering the shifting of an additional 11 Westview girls to QC Starz.

TRY-OUT INFORMATION for Round 2:
WHEN: Sunday, November 15th, 2009, 9-11am
WHERE: Morning Creek Elementary School, 10925 Morning Creek Dr. South, San Diego, CA 92128, at the fields behind the school. (http://www.powayusd.com/pusdmces/about/location.shtml). There is parking right adjacent to the athletic fields we'll be using, off of Evening Creek Drive.
PRACTICES: Once teams are established, specific practice times will be established for each team, which will be one day a week, on either Saturdays or Sundays. For the most part, right now, we're anticipating practices on Sunday mornings at Morning Creek Elementary School through early December, then, transitioning to Field 7 at RBHS. (Times, anticipate 9am-11am). Sorry for the inconvenience, but the RBHS Fields are being renovated and will be unavailable until December.
TEAMS: 1 or 2 Elite teams (TBD) (Typically experienced Varsity players)
2 or 1 High School team (TBD) (9th - 12th graders who don't make the Elite Squad)
December 12/13: Jamboree #2 (SD)
February 6th: Starz Cup Championships! (SD)
2010 Sandstorm Tournament in Palm Springs - January 16/17
Starz Lacrosse will be holding a tryout on December 12th for Elite Starz Players only, to form an All-Starz, all-star team, so-to-speak, for the 2010 Sandstorm Tournament in Palm Springs. More details to come.
Arrangements have already been made for all QC Starz Elite team members to have an opportunity to play for the Rancho Bernardo-based, "Team San Diego", at this same tournament (OPTIONAL). Because this tournament is outside of the normal Starz Program, participation will require an additional registration fee ($200), regardless of whether participation will be through the All-Starz squad, or Team San Diego. Girls interested in participating will need to contact the Team San Diego administrator, John Sieger, for additional information, shortly after the try-outs. This is a highly touted, West Coast recruiting event that should be seriously considered by anyone hoping to play Lacrosse in College.
*Comprised mostly of players from the Rancho Bernardo, Del Norte, Westview and Mt. Carmel High School areas (but all dynamite athletes are welcome!)
NOTE Poway, Ramona and Scripps Ranch area players are encouraged to register for the new SD Sharkz Starz program based out of Poway.
