Pflugerville Youth Football League: Info

Our Philosophy
Pop Warner Football is an international program, founded in 1929. Its National headquarters is located in Langhorne, Pa. Pop Warner Football incorporates a philosophy that academics and athletics go together. There are no All-star teams in Pop Warner Football. Indeed, the only awards which are permitted are for academics at the local, Conference or National level.

Tryouts are not permitted in Pop Warner Football. The program incorporates a "first come first served" approach to sign-ups until teams and cheerleading squads have been filled, although preference may be given to returning participants. All teams are required to follow rules guaranteeing a certain number of minimum plays for all participants.

League Objective
The objective of this program is to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, to practice sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness. We propose to meet this objective by familiarizing both players and cheerleaders with the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. In addition, our objective is to provide the opportunity to play in an organized and supervised environment where the emphasis is on total participation and maximum safety, while KEEPING THE GAME FREE OF ADULT AND PARENTAL PRESSURES TO WIN AT ANY COST.

The coaches and directors of the PYFL are very dedicated to the goals and philosophies that have been set, and we trust you share this dedication. We look forward to having your children in the program.

If you are interested in helping or have a suggestion, please let us know. Our goal is to provide the best program possible for the children in our community, which can only be accomplished with your help and participation.
