Paul Vi turns back Washington Township

Washington Twp. would take one trip into the Eagles end of the field in the 2nd minute of play and come out with a goal. It would be only the second time all season the Eagles trailed in a game. And again it did not last long. Chelsea Phillips would answer with a header against the Washington Township keeper. The ball was played into the box by Brittany Ratcliffe only 3 minutes after going down 1-0 and Chelsea would out leap the keeper for the goal. The score would remain tie for the balance of the half. The game would go back and forth with each team having some chances in the 2nd half. With just over 11 minutes remaining, the Eagles Becky Sparks would take a throw in deep in the Minutemaids end and Brittany Ratcliffe would take it down, turn and beat the keeper with a well strck ball. The Eagles would have the better of play for the final minutes and create a couple more chances but the score would end 2-1. Keeper Sarah Hinkle came out to collect several dangerous balls to make sure Washington Township did not score and preserve the win. The team now has a week before it's next opponent - Germantown Academy.
