WELCOME TO THE 2011 BASKETBALL SEASON.
COME JOIN US THIS WEEKEND AT THE CAPITAL SPORTS COMPLEX FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION GAMES AND THE REPLAY OF THE 2ND AND 3RD GRADE TEAMS ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. ALL TEAMS WILL PLAY ON FRIDAY.
THE MVP TOURNAMENT WILL BE ON JUNE 4TH AND 5TH IN HAMPTON VA. AT THE BOO WILLIAMS SPORTSPLEX. THE TOP TEAMS FROM MARYLAND, VIRGINIA AND POTOMAC VALLEY WILL FIGHT TO PROVE WHICH DISTRICT HAS THE BEST TEAMS IN THE 4TH, 5TH, 6TH, 7TH AND 8TH GRADES. THIS WILL BE THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN BEFOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The new year has brought new rule changes and new opportunities. All District Qualifiers will be Grade only formats in compliance to the Grade only rule change. For those who would like to have a player play down a grade level. You must send Joe Crawford a email at joe@aausports.org giving him the players age, grade and reason for the request. If the waiver is granted, then you must include that in the 2011 registration package on the player profile sheet for each player.
All coaches must complete the PCA Coaches Course. The course can be accessed on the National website www.aausports.org . Please attach the certificate to the registration package.
The Maryland and Virginia Districts have issued a "best of the east" challenge to the members of the Potomac Valley District. The MVP AAU Challenge Invitation will be on June 4th and 5th at the Boo Williams Sportplex in Hamton Va. This is a invitition OnlyTournament.Those teams interested should contact Mrs. Melody Britt or P. k .Martin.
The District Basketball program will be Broadcasting, Streaming or Filming Games this year. We will be interviewing youth from grades 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th to act as host, sideline reporters, interviewers and Broadcasters. All interested parties should email P. K. Martin at pksportss@yahoo.com .

Their duties will be to serve as the Boys Basketball Review Committee, to help manage the District Qualifiers, to serve as grade group host for the tournament and to be available to assist members who have questions regarding the tournament.
This year we will be using PVAAU members (youth, high school) to run the clocks and score books. If you have any high school players who need public service hours and are willing to work the games, please have them call P. K. Martin 240-375-2922 or email at pksportss@yahoo.com .
The National AAU website is www.aausports.org . Please use the membership now button to join. Memberships start from September 1st to August 30th of each year.
Any team that brings or helps a new Oganization to the 2011 Boys Basketball registration this year will recieve a $50.00 discount at registration. Any team that helps register 10 teams will recieve free entry to this and next years District Qualifiers.
