Knights Take Fifth at Conference
The Knights had an awesome meet at Barrington on Saturday. They were amazing and not yet tapered. It didn't start great as the Medley Relay finished third, but were DQed for an early start. BUT in the fifth event Alli finished her 50 free extremely strong and was the Conference CHAMPION, outstanding. Then the 200 Free Relay of Liz, Katie, Malinde, and Alli, took third. Amy got a third place in breastroke. And finally the 400 Free Relay took 7th. Final scores were:
Barrington 304.5
Fremd 237.5
Hersey 156
Roll. Mead. 130
PROSPECT 113
(in order; Schaumburg, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, Conant, Wheeling. Hoffman also belongs somewhere in this group)
Knights are 6th at Hersey Jamboree
With many best swims of the season, the Knights were able to take sixth at the Hersey Invitational this year. It started off with an enthusiastic cheerleader skit. But the Warren girls rendition of 'Take me out to the Swim Meet' was just too poignant with the Cubs vying for the World Series. Though Malinde's shoulders were packed in ice, the team came through with a great effort.
Some of the medalists included Amy (1st in Breastroke and 6th IM), Alli (3rd in 50 and 100 free), Liz (4th in 50 and 5th in 100 free), and the 200 free relay that finished 4th.
The scores were:
Cary Grove 208 Buffalo Gr 115
St. Viator 187 McHenry 110
Hersey 160 Elk Grove 65
Warren 153 Oak Forest 52
Mundelein 150 Niles West 47
PROSPECT 139 Fenton 8

Knights Fall to Vikings
A very impressive Viking team from Fremd gave the Knights a setback by defeating Varsity 114-73. The Knights Medley Relay lead off the meet with an awesome win, but there would only be three more victorious events. Several outstanding swims by the Knights were highlighted by Amy's team record in the 100 Breaststoke. Sisters Katelyn and Lauren were the only others to win individual events.

Knights wing the Hawks
At the meter pool in Hoffman Estates, the Varsity won every one of the 11 swimming events, and they took 1-2-3 in 100 free, 400M free, and 100 breast. Two false starts in the 50 free should be a good learning experience. JV won 114-54. They were also awesome.
Knights Dive into season with win at Maine South
The Knights girls swim teams won both the Varsity (111.5-74.5)and JV (107-57) meets at Maine South. Varsity won 8 of the eleven events, and took second and third in two of the other three. Way to start the season.

Mustang Relays defeat Knights
The Varsity lost to an impressive Rolling Meadows Mustang team on Wednesday. It seems that their relays are what did the Knights in. Prospect had victories in I.M., 100 free, 500 free, back and breast, but the relays kept falling to second place. Final score 100-86
JV had an awesome meet winning 115-55.

Even without the points for winning the Freshmen Medley Relay, the Knights struggled back to take fourth place in the green division at the Stevenson Relays. Alli Luft won and set a meet record for the Junior 50 yard freestyle. Five second place finishes included the 500 Crescendo relay (Dix/Luft/Hineman/Caldwell), Varsity 4x50 (Dix/Caldwell/Warner/Luft), 350 Back (Wong/Barasa/Fairburn), Frosh 4x100 free (Warner/E. Schiavone/Karz/Andracki), and Varsity 4x100 (Dix/Billings/Hineman/Luft). Final scores in the green division were:
1-Rockford-Boylan 214 5-Dundee-Crown 158
2-Chicago Latin 208 6-Rolling Meadows 154
3-Jacobs 180 7-Plainfield 140

This Week, Oct 27-31

Knights Push to THIRD at Viators Invite
The Prospect Knights swam with their hearts at St. Viators on Saturday and they came home with the third place trophy. Almost every swim added to the point total. Alli and Amy had first place finishes and Katelyn got a third. Then there were 2 fourth place finishes, 4 fifth place and 3 sixth place. The top five teams were as follows:
Mother McAuley 140 pts
St. Viator 113
Prospect 76
Jacobs 69
St. Ignatius 48
Knights Slip at Buffalo Grove
The Knights swam strong, but BG's big guns kept them at bay. Winning only three events (Alli, Katelyn and Amy) the team had to swim hard to keep BG from running away. The final score was 85-100. JV fell 85-95.
No Practice Wednesday. Have fun at Homecoming and Stevenson then attack Meadows next week.
