Oct 3, 2002: THE MEET v Hersey
The duel of undefeated MSL East teams was held at Prospect's home pool, Wheeling. The meet was exciting as expected. Almost everyone at the meet was swimming personnel best times. Prospect won 7 events: both the 200 and 400 free relays, Malinde in the 200 and 500 free, Mary in the 200IM, Alli in the 50 and 100 free. The lead switched several times with no clear winner until after the second to the last event. Hersey won 5 events plus the deciding diving. Final score Prospect 89, Hersey 97. JV was victorious; 102-81. Congratulations to all of the swimmers on their outstanding efforts. Click on the headline to read the Daily Herald article.

Big meet on Thursday against Hersey (They beat B.G. last week. That was the first time BG has lost in MSL East in 5 years).
Sep 21: Knights take 7th in the Gold Div. at Stevenson
The Stevenson Relays are always a great event. This year the Knights got moved up to the Gold Division. It was an honor to swim with Lake Forest and Steveson. They are awesome teams with great depth. Next meet is Thursday against Elk Grove at the Pavilion off of Biesterfield Rd.
Sep 12: Knights can win in Metric System
In the 25 meter pool at Palatine both the JV and Varsity teams were able to win. The longer distance makes the times seem slow but look at the score: JV (89-69) and Varsity (100-96)
Sep 14: Knights take Fourth at Viators
For the third year in a row, the Knights took fourth place at the St. Viators Invitational. Our medalists included:

Mary in MedRel, 100Fr, 200FrRel

At Wheeling pool, the Prospect JV and Varsity teams were able to defeat Rolling Meadows. Even during a hard practice week, the girls found the energy and spirit to win. JV (93-71), Varsity (102-81)
Saturday Morning Lake Swim
Saturday morning, August 31, the PHS girls will swim in Lake Michigan. Meet at PHS at 7am. The beach to the right is Ohio Street Beach and is also known as Olive Park. The one mile swim starts from the beach and goes north (to the left in the photo) along Lake Shore Drive. Boats are not allowed in this area and the typical depth is 4 feet. It's a beautiful place to swim.
Sept 5: Knights Roll over Hoffman
The Knights handily defeated Hoffman Estates on Thursday. Because of the limited depth at the start end, the girls had to dive in off the edge, without starting blocks. The Varsity and JV teams both won.
Sept 3: Knights defeat Maine South to Start the Season
In an awesome start to the season, the Knights Varsity defeated Maine South, 115-68, at Wheeling pool. Many girls had fanatastic swims for this early in the year. Some girls must have worked hard this summer. Next meet is Thursday at Hoffman.
Aug 31: Fourteen Girls Swim Lake Michigan
On Saturday, 14 of the Prospect girls swam a mile from Ohio Street Beach. The cool water, slight chop and tall buildings made for a nice break from Wheeling pool. Thanks to Marissa's family for the bar-b-que. More photos by clicking on ALBUMS to the left.
