Season Starts at Maine South
First meet is Tuesday at Maine South which is located on Dee Rd. just north of Devon in Park Ridge. The pool is in the northeast portion of the school. Click the headline to get more information about Maine South.
Second Meet is against the Saxons
Thursday we swim at Schaumburg which is located on Schaumburg Rd west of Roselle Rd. Enter at the west end of the building. Click on the headline for more info on Schaumburg High School.
EARLY PRACTICES THIS WEEK
Don't forget practices this week (Sept 5-8) are from 3:15 to 5:15pm.
Knights host Hoffman Estates on Thursday
Thursday the 7th the girls swim against Hoffman Estates. This is a home meet at Wheeling High School at 4:30 pm. Click on the headline for a map. The pool is on the southeast side of the building, enter from Elmhurst Rd. (Rt. 83).
Knights Slip to Hoffman - Then get 4th at Viators Invite
Thursday night Prospect lost a close meet to Hoffman 96-94 at Wheeling. On Saturday, the Prospect girls came in fourth out of nine teams at the St. Viators Invite.
Knights defeat Wildcats and take ninth at Stevenson Relays
The Varsity team confidently defeated Wheeling while the JV fell by one point. On Saturday, the Prospect Knights took ninth out of 16 teams at the Stevenson Relays. The relays were a lot of fun with Crescendos(50-100-200) and sprints (4x25). It was a great day.

This weeks schedule
This week (25Sep) is back to late practices, but no practice Tuesday because of a Wheeling meet and no morning practice Thursday because of late arrival. Meet on Thursday at Wheeling against the Mustangs.
Good showing at Buffalo Grove Invite
The Prospect Knights took fifth out of nine teams at the Buffalo Grove invite. High points included the 200 medley relay-3rd, Malinde's 200 and 500 free-5th and 5th, Mary and Katie's 50 free-3rd and 1st, 200 free relay-3rd, Mary in the 100 fly and a meet record for Katie in the 100 back.
Knights Fall Off the Mustangs
In a close meet the Prospect Knights were defeated by the Rolling Meadows Mustang. Victories were again recorded by Malinde in the 500, Amanda in the JV backstroke and Katie in the Varsity back. Way to go!!
HERE THEY COME
Saturday the shaved and tapered JV girls will attend the conference meet at Conant High School in Schaumburg.
Swimming and Diving Team Banquet
The Prospect Girls Swimming and Diving Team Banquet will be held at Mr Peter's Banquets on Monday November 20, 6:30pm.
Split Decision for the Week
The Knights Varsity and JV teams defeated Fenton on Tuesday, but the Senior celebration was clouded by a defeat to Hersey on Thursday.
Last meet at Maine West
Tuesday the 17th will be the last dual meet of the season against Maine West. Lets go get 'em girls.

Eighth Place at Varsity Conference
With a relatively small team, the Prospect Knights were able to take 8th place at the varsity conference meet at Barrington. Katie M. took two First Place finishes, 50 free and 100 back.

Knights take 5th at Conference
The Knights had a great Conference Meet at Conant on Saturday, October 27. They were able to score points in all events except one. Many swimmers had PRs, but wait til they're shaved and tapered. Sectionals are Saturday, November 10 at Stevenson.

Knights cap a GREAT Season with another win
The Knights Varsity and JV teams defeated the Maine West Warriors in the last dual meet of the 2001 season. For the season, the Varsity dual meet record was 7-3 (losses to BG, Barrington, and Hersey). The Invites included FIRST at Stevenson, 4th at St. Viators, 5th at Buffalo Grove and 6th at Hersey Jamboree. What an outstanding season!!!!!!
Sectionals - Knights 7th, Katie goes on to State
Nov. 10, 2001: The Knights finished the Sectional meet at Stevenson in seventh place. All of the girls had dramatic drops from their seed times. Great taper - Great season. Katie goes on to State in 50 Free and 100 Back. Times and team scores are in 'Schedules'.
Knights tie for FIRST at Stevenson
The Knights put forth a valiant effort to tie for first place in the green division at the Patriot Relays held at Stevenson High School on Sept. 15. The girls gained 2 points over Rockford Boylan in the last event to climb out of second place. Placing of other schools are in the Schedule link to the left. First place was scored in the Crescondo (50-100-150-200) by Amanda, Mary, Malinde, Katie; 50 Free by Katie (just missed meet record by .14 sec); 3x200 free by Mary, Katie, Malinde; and the 4x50 free by Amanda, Allie, Malinde and Katie. The girls could have walked away with the win if it weren't for two DQs.
This Week, Sept 17-23:
The Prospect girls are back to late practices this week 5:15-7:15. Tuesday practice is 7-9am only at Wheeling. The meet against Rolling Meadows is THURSDAY at Olympic Pool in Arlington Heights (I think). The Mustangs were only 6 points behind at the Stevenson meet, so expect serious competition. SATURDAY is an invitational at Buffalo Grove.
Coming UP
The next meet is on Tuesday (Oct2) at Buffalo Grove. This is a make-up from the cancellation on September 11. On Thursday, there is a meet against Hersey at Olympic Pool and Saturday Hersey hosts an Invitational Meet at Olympic. Practices this week are early (3:15-5:15). After this week there are only 2 more meets before JV Conference. No morning practices this week because of Homecoming. Get your rest girls.
This Week Sept. 23-29
Home meet at Wheeling on Tuesday against Elk Grove. Practices are early (3:15-5:15pm). Check with coach about Thursday and Saturday practice.
5th Place for Knights at Bison Invite
The Knights were able to take a fifth place finish at the Buffalo Grove Invitational on Saturday. Good consistent swims kept gaining them points. First place finishes were recorded by Katie M in the 50 free and 100 back. Mary had second in the 100 free and fourth in the 200 IM. Malinde had a third in the 200 and fourth in the 500. The relays took two third place finishes in 200 Medley and 200 Free.
Knights Slay Mustangs
The Varsity defeated the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at Olympic Pool on Thursday (114-96?). The JV team did not fare as well and lost by about 14 points.
In the Hearld Today
Friday, September 28: The Daily Herald honor roll came out today. The Prospect 200 Medley Relay is ranked 10th. Katie is ranked 3rd in the 50 free and 5th in the backstroke. The Prospect 200 free relay is ranked 8th and the 400 free relay is 10th.

The Awesome Prospect Swim team put on show defeating Elk Grove at Wheeling High School pool.
This Week Oct 8-12
Start the week off right with Columbus Day and practice from 7-9am. Practices this week are late (5:15-7:15). Home meet on Tuesday(?against Fenton?)and Thursday against Wheeling. JV Conference is coming on Saturday the 20th.
Last Week Oct 1-6
There were some great individual efforts this week to offset team disappointments. Tuesday was a loss at Buffalo Grove (Journal story in "schedules"). Then Thursday was a loss at Hersey, but the JV team was able to take away a victory from Hersey. Saturday the Prospect Girls scored a sixth place at the Hersey Jamboree Invitational. Scores are in the schedules section. Their musical skit was outstanding, but didn't score high enough with the Hersey Homecoming Court boys to win.
First Home Meet on Thursday
Thursday September 6, the Knights will host the meet against Palatine at Wheeling High School.
VARSITY DEFEATS MAINE SOUTH
In the first meet of the season, the Knights Varsity team defeated the Maine South Hawks at Maine South. A number of good swims were made. JV went down 95-78, but it sure didn't look like the first meet of the season.

Prospect takes fourth again
Same as last year. The Knights took fourth place at the Viators Invite, missing third by one point to Jacobs, 64-65. More details by clicking on Schedules to the left.
This Week Sept. 8-15:
The meet scheduled for Wednesday was moved, by Buffalo Grove to Tuesday, but then there was the hi-jacking situation and the meet was cancelled, tenatively to be rescheduled. No practice Wednesday afternoon because Wheeling has a meet. On SATURDAY the Knights swim an all relay invitational at Stevenson high school. Bus leaves at 11:30. Meet starts at 1:30.
FIRST MEET Tuesday, August 28
The first swim meet for the Prospect Girls is Tuesday August 28 at Maine South. The bus will leave Prospect at 3:15. The meet will start at 5 pm. Maine South is on Dee Road, between Devon and Talcott, in Park Ridge. The girls are expected to take the team bus back to school. Parents should pick-up their swimmers at the school.

MORNING Practices
Morning practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 am at Wheeling. There is no bus service so be sure to have a ride. Varsity is encouraged to make both practices each week and JV swimmers are encouraged to make the Monday morning practice.
