Make plans now to attend the 3rd annual alumni game!
When: Saturday November 28th at noon
Where: Pecos Park
The second annual alumni game was a true spectical this year. After losing miserably to the Pride last year, the alumni came to the field with revenge on their minds. Dan Jones and Stephen McCarty were in goal for the 'lums, making it really difficult for the youthful attack of the Pride to get the ball in the net. Many of the midfielders double as long poles due to their shortage of defensemen. Leading scorers (like who was keeping score!) were the dynamic dual of Taylor Hilton and Stephan Holly (no surprise there!) along with old timers Jayme Manos and Eric Lougher.
It was really great to see so many alums return to the game and the fan base has increased as well. Many families joined us for some good wholesome entertainment and to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all who helped consume the post game sub sandwiches...I think we only had about one foot of the twelve feet of sandwich left over! It was so much fun...let's do it again next year! Save the Saturday after Thanksgiving, if you plan that far ahead.
Stephen McCarty, former Pride goalie, is currently serving in the US Air Force at Davis-Mothan AFB in Tucson. Stephen was one of the original 4 year laxers at MPHS.
Abraham Aranda, class of 2006, has joined the US Marines and will be deploying to Okinawa, Japan at the end of October 2008. Abraham was a midfielder for the Pride.
Thank you, Stephen and Abraham, for representing us proudly!
