Presidio Juniors Win TOC Championship!
Presidio Little League, Juniors Division, swept to a T.O.C. championship, defeating Coronado Little League (12-0), Peninsula Little League (4-1), and University City Little League (7-1) in consecutive games.
In the game against Coronado, Presidio demonstrated pitching, fielding and hitting in a commanding performance.  Alex Schick, Duncan Tomlin, and Spencer Calvert pitched the team to a two hit shut-out in a game in which Presidio played errorless ball.  Matt Needham led the bats with four hits and four RBIs.
In the Peninsula affair, timely hitting, great pitching and defense was the key to success.   In particular, Connor Mullaney had an outstanding outing on the mound throwing five and a third shutout innings and giving up no hits.  Cameron Yackly had a key two out, two RBI, single to lead the offense.
The final game was a pitching duel in which University City scored an unearned run in the first inning and led until the bottom of the sixth.  Presidio scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, the deciding frame, in a hard-fought battle.  Notably, Schick pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowing only three hits.  Tomlin was the catalyst for the sixth inning eruption with a two run single, which gave Presidio the lead for good.
The T.O.C. Championship flag will be raised at Sefton Field this week.
