Presidio Juniors Win TOC Championship!
Presidio Little League Junior Division swept to a T.O.C. championship, defeating Coronado LL (12-0), Peninsula LL (4-1), and University City LL (7-1) in consecutive games.
In the game against Coranado, Presidio demonstrated pitching, fielding, and hitting in a commanding performance. Alex Schick, Duncan Tomlin, and Spencer Calvert pitched the team to a two-hit shut-out in a game in which Presidio played errorless ball. Matt Needham led the bats with four hits andfour RBIs.
In the Peninsula affair, timely hitting, great pitching and defense was the key to success. In particular, Connor Mullaney had an outstanding outing on the mound throwing five and a third shutout innings and giving up no hits. Cameron Yackly had a key two out, two RBI, single to lead the offense.
The final game was a pitching duel in which University City scored an unearned run in the first inning and led until the bottom of the sixth. Presidio scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, the deciding frame, in a hard-fought battle. Notably, Schick pitched six and two-thirds innings, allowing only three hits. Tomlin was the catalyst for the sixth inning eruption with a two-run single, which gave Presidio the lead for good.
The T.O.C. Championship flag will be raised at Sefton Field this week!

League History
Presidio Little League has been playing ball at Sefton Park since 1970. The park is named in honor of J.W. Sefton and family. The J.W. Sefton Foundation has donated tens of thousands of dollars for capital improvements and other expenses over the last 38 years, and has been instrumental in keeping Little League baseball in Mission Valley.
In 2004, Presidio Little League was selected to participate in the San Diego Padres' "Little Padres" Park Program which has lead to a monumental facelift including the re-grading of playing fields, new turf, a new irrigation system, a scoreboard, and outfield fence for the majors field.
The fields at Sefton Park are named in honors of volunteers who have generously given their time and energy to ensure that Little League Baseball has a place in our community. The Seniors/Juniors field is named in honor of the late Scott Palmer, manager of Presidio's first Seniors team. Scott was also the "founder" of CAPs baseball in our league and was an inspiration to many younger kids trying to learn the game of baseball.
The Majors "Bishop Field" is named for Art Bishop, a long time Mission Hills resident and the original visionary of Sefton Park. He saw what no other saw in the undeveloped land in Mission Valley and imagined what it could become. The Bishop family has been a long time sponsor of many Little League "Major" division teams.
The Minors "Luce Field" is named for the late Ed Luce, who coached and managed Presidio Little League teams for 35 years. In 1992, he successfully coached our Tournament of Champions team to a District Championship!
The Caps " Hacker Field" is named for Jack Hacker, also a long time Mission Hills resident who coached and managed Presidio Little League teams for more than 38 years. He made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of kids in Mission Hills. Jack was honored during this year's "Opening Day." Jack was also involved in the annual Lions High School Baseball Tournament and supported Junior College and San Diego State baseball programs. Jackson "Jack" B. Hacker passed away on April 2, 2009. Thank you Jack for all your service.
Our T-ball field is named for past league President Ron Carrico. Ron helped coach the 1994 Majors champions and served the league over ten years.
