Thursday, May 22 WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE PIRANHAS! Thanks for visiting our website. Our registration information is in the "Site News". ____________________________________________________________________________________ A community swim team devoted to providing it's youth with a healthy social alternative. The Piney Orchard Piranhas (POPs) Swim Team is a competitive summer swim team that will provide a wonderful sporting opportunity for all Piney Orchard Resident swimmers 18 and under. The primary goals of our swim team are to promote team spirit, good sportsmanship and provide a positive learning experience for all at our practices and meets. Our main objective is to provide a safe, structured, activity during the summer for all youth in the Piney Orchard community. Our swim team is a member of the Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL). There are 53 teams consisting of ten (10) divisions in the league and we are in the 10th division. All members of the team must be eighteen (18) and under as of 30 May 2008. Swimmers 7 and up must be able to swim one length of the pool, without any assistance. Swimmers 6 and under may have a "buddy" in the pool ahead of them for encouragement and guidance. See you bright and early! Thursday, May 22 Last day of registration The last day of registration is May 31, 2008. If you're interested in signing up, there are packets at the Community Center or attend a practice on Tuesday or Thursday evening from 6-8:30pm at the Island Pool. Thursday, May 22 Swim Pro - June 1 Swim Pro will be at the Community Center on June 1 from 1-3pm to sell team swim suits, goggles and anything else swim. Please plan on stopping by to get fittend and get a great deal on our team suit.
Thursday, May 22 CMSL Clinic - June 1 Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL) is having a clinic for all team reps., coaches and any volunteers who would like training on table work and stroke and turn judging. The clinic starts at 9am at Padonia Swim Club. We will have quite a few people attending the clinic. Please e-mail at swimteam@pineyorchard.com if you're interested in attending.
