Portsmouth Soccer Club: PSC Jr. Academy Teams News

The PSC Jr. Academy is an in house introductory soccer program for ages U-4 to U-9. The program is focused on providing a fun, friendly environment for younger players to participate in soccer through the small-sided game concept. U4 and U6 teams play three players a side at a time, U9 teams play 6 players a side with a goalkeeper, allowing them to get many "touches" on the ball as they develop the basic soccer techniques in a family oriented environment. Coaches are parent volunteers who participate in the program with their children. Normally one training/practice session a week with a game on Saturday. Once registered, players are placed on coed teams that remain intact for the soccer year (fall and spring seasons).

These players train on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30, coaches work on a league set agenda of training.  Games are played on Saturdays at John Tyler Soccer Complex.

Fees for Jr. Academy Players includes Training Tees, a Uniform T-shirt, socks, referee fees, insurance/registration fee paid to VYSA (our state association), administrative costs, field and equipment costs, and coach license courses.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact the Jr. Academy Director.
