Portsmouth Soccer Club: PSC Advanced Teams News

What is the Advanced soccer program?

Advance Soccer is the 2nd teir of a 3 teir program offered by PSC.  The Advanced program offers children and young adults the opportunity to participate in soccer and experience team play at an intermediate level from ages U9-U19. The Advanced is designed to be utilized as a springboard to the Club’s travel program.  We encourage all players interested in advancing in their soccer knowledge and skill to try out for the Advanced program, especially any players that are excelling beyond the recreation level.

Portsmouth Soccer Club plays Advance Level Soccer under TASL (Tidewater Advanced Soccer League).  TASL clubs compete against other clubs from the Tidewater cities of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Smithfield and Newport News as well as teams from Northeast North Carolina.

TASL has its own website where schedules and TASL league information is posted and kept current.  Teams Coaches, Managers and Parents should use the TASL website for up-to-date information for your Advance team.  The address is
www.tasli.org.
In addition to the registration fee the player will need to purchase an uniform kit which consists of 1 jersey, one pair of shorts, and a pair of socks for roughly $70.00. The club's uniform cycle is every two years, so a new uniform will need to be purchased in fall 2010, 2012, 2014, etc. Club fees for Advanced players include a league fee (TASL), certified referees, insurance/registration fee paid to VYSA (our state association), administrative costs, and coach license courses.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact the Advance Teams Director.
