Well trade that metal bat, for a good wood bat, put the cleats back on and play more baseball this summer in the Northwest Independent Baseball League. Do you want to hear the crack of a baseball rocketing off a WOOD BAT? Have you ever played with metal spikes and got dirty diving for that "web gem" play? Can you sling a fastball by a hitter> Want to be mobbed by your team for that walk off hit that drives in the winning run? You will play hard and play to win but most importantly we have fun. That’s what Women's WOOD BAT Baseball is about.

Wood Bat Baseball survives in Portland…New league forms with the help of Team Managers Portland OR. – Northwest Independent Baseball League (NWIBL.org) acquires the existing Adult League teams aged 18-28 , 28 & over, Adult Fall Leagues 18+ and 45+ and Fall High School teams from the former PCLB Portland City Baseball League. The 2009 Season will continue with returning teams and players and will be ready to start the beginning of May. College players returning to the Portland area are welcome to join teams. NWIBL announced Monday that it had posted its website (NWIBL.ORG) and that baseball team managers have been contacted and scheduling was continuing with games to be played at Sckavone and Walker Stadiums in Portland. The Northwest Independent Baseball League is a 10-team independent Adult baseball league that will play its 1st season this summer. The NWIBL will begin season play on May 16. Opening day plans will be announced shortly. The NWIBL will host their 2009 NWIBL League All-Star Game in July, a Wives/Girlfriends Softball game along with a League sponsored bar-b-q. Northwest Independent Baseball League will hold adult player (18 or older) tryouts and draft on April 25th at Sckavone Stadium. College players returning to the Portland area are welcome to join teams just email your bio. Baseball@nwibl.org
