The Hoop Service Basketball organization, is a developmental basketball program created for boys and girls in grades 4-8 in the Kansas City metropolitan area of Wyandotte, Johnson, and Jackson counties. We offer tournament and league play, summer camps, fall and winter boot camps, as well as individual instruction. The program helps youth reach their maximum potential both on and off the court. Our team name HOOP stands for (Helping Out Other People).
Participation in Hoop Service is not based upon one's ability to pay or play but rather on commitment. This lesson in commitment, along with the developmental enrichment offered through the program, leads to college scholarships for many of the programs participants.
A college education for some would not be possible without these scholarships.
Our operation consists of playing in leagues, tournaments, and participating in camps on a year-round basis.
Both the player and the parents must understand the importance of teamwork and commitment. See "bylaws" under "handouts".
The high school kids play in many exposure events which provides them the opportunity to be seen by college recruiters. We have produced several winning teams and helped each of our graduating participants secure college scholarships either athletic or academic.
If you are wanting to help out by sponsoring a player or a team, your tax-deductible contributions will help pay for tournaments, leagues, practice time, uniforms, equipment, camp, operational costs, travel expenses, and coaching fees.
People's attitude have changed, they don't want to watch, they want to play for the health and social value that sports participation offers.
