Penguins Gray Team wins Thanksgiving Hockey Classic Championship Game!

ABOUT US
The Pond Penguins are a Mite ice hockey team supported by the Pond Ice Arena, Season's Pizza, Patterson Schwartz and other sponsors.
The Pond Penguins skate out of the Pond Ice Arena located in Newark, Delaware. The board of directors, coaches and other Penguin associates are made up of volunteer parents and community members.
The 2007/2008 season is our 5th season as a travel Mite team, and our 3rd season with 2 teams.
OUR PLAYERS
Many of our players who are now Penguins have participated in the Pond's Learn to Skate Program, Hockey 101, and the Cross Ice
Program. The goal of our organization is to create quality players, while having the players improve their skills as they learn about the game.
Emphasis is placed on developing each individual player. Developing players move from cross-ice to the Penguins limited or full travel programs. Eventually these players move onto the Delaware Ducks for more advanced hockey.
Our increasing success is a direct result of the parents and children. Offering a personal travel hockey program without having MITES sit in the car for hours going to and from games.

MISSION STATEMENT
SPORTSMANSHIP...POISE...DISCIPLINE...FOCUS...INTENSITY...CLASS...COMPETITION...RESPECT...INTEGRITY...FAIRNESS...FAIRNESS...SPIRIT...FAMILY & FRIENDSHIP, MAKES UP EVERY ASPECT of BEING A PENGUIN.
The overall goal of the Penguins organization is to create a "FUN" environment, which will encourage the children to compete in an organized sport activity and in return they will benefit from lifelong values, which will assist them in succeeding as adults.
Our goal is to cultivate team play, respect, discipline, responsability, honor, sportsmanship, and to strengthen each players self esteem, while instilling "FUN" into every practice and every game. The children will also learn that winning is not the lesson taught, but that having "FUN", practicing hard, and developing relationships with your fellow team mates and playing the best game that you possibly can is the ultimate goal and satisfaction behind the sport of youth ice hockey. When a young hockey player comes off the ice after a loosing game, and says "I had so much FUN", then we have been successful in our mission.
