Tips, & Training: Bob Bertucci Volleyball Camp 2005

Bob Bertucci Volleyball Camp 2005
Pleasant Valley High School will be the host next summer to a Bob Bertucci Volleyball Camp. The Day Camps are three-day programs with two sessions per day from 9:00 AM-4:30 PM. The camps are co-ed and designed for beginner to advanced athletes ranging in age from 8-18.

July 5-7   ◊ 3-Day Individual Camp

Individual Camp:
Designed specifically to stress proper fundamentals and techniques. Through this period of concentrated skill training, participants will see major improvements in their individual performance. This camp program is for all skill levels. Athletes will be grouped accordingly. We strongly encourage advanced players to attend.

Team Camp:
Geared toward preparing a team for the upcoming season, it will stress all team functions and afford ample six on six scrimmages. A court coach will be assigned to actually train and prepare your team, while the high school coach has the opportunity to sit back and observe. Areas you can expect to cover are service reception, including two and three player formations; team offense, including quick attack and swing offense; team defense, player up and back; transition and much more. For maximum benefit, groups will be between 12-15 players.

You are encouraged to bring your entire team. Individuals may attend and will be grouped into All-Star training teams.

Bob Bertucci, Director, is known and respected both nationally and internationally with more than 22 years of coaching and teaching experience in volleyball. Bob is currently the head women's coach at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. He has also served as head coach at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the University of Tennessee and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. In addition to his collegiate coaching, Bob is currently working with the U. S. National Program coaching, conducting tryouts and scouting. He has coached the 1999 U.S. Women's World University Games team in Spain; 1985 Women's World University Games team in Kobe, Japan; two U.S. Olympic Festivals and the U.S. Women's Junior National Team.

Bob Bertucci has directed one of the most successful camps in the country for over two decades. The camps allow an aspiring volleyball athlete the opportunity to be exposed to Coach Bertucci's highly successful training methods. His training methods, as described in his books and videos, are employed at every camp. All camps will have certified staff who are highly competent and well-versed in the Bertucci training system. The 2005 camps will feature special guest instructors, personalized training and a recommended coach-player ratio of 1-12. The underlying philosophy that these camps were founded upon was to make available quality volleyball training that was both affordable and convenient. Bob쳌fs camps have been attended by many state champion caliber teams.

The camps at Pleasant Valley this past summer were supervised by Yi Qing Weng, former member of the Chinese Men's National team and currently First Assistant Coach at Temple University. Yi Qing, who began his career with the Chinese National team at the age of fifteen and went on to play professionally, brings a wealth of volleyball experience. He is a world famous volleyball player, ranking as the best spiker and blocker in all of Asia in 1991. In the world league in 1992, he was ranked second in spiking and third in blocking.

If any players or coaches are interested, detailed information and registration forms will be available at www.bobbertucci.com (click on the link above) or by calling (800) 4 VOLLEY.
