The Poca Youth Baskeyball League (PYBL) is dedicated to the idea that kids can have fun and learn at the same time. For over a decade, we have helped teach kids and parents alike basketball skills, sportsmanship, and a that working together is what makes a winning team - no matter what the final score may be!

YOUTH LEAGUE NIGHT
On Dec. 23 Poca High Boys Basketbal will be hosting the annual Youth League Night for us. All players in uniform will get in free. Parents will need to pay. At halftime all teams and coaches will be announced. The kids really enjoy this and of course we are also supporting our high school team. Please try to make every effort to attend. The game starts at 7:30 pm, no school the next day. The JV game will start at 5:45. Monday, November 24 Sportsmanship Our League places the upmost importance on Sportsmanship. We have a no tolerance policy when it comes to unsportsmanlike conduct by any player, coach, or fan. We will not argue any calls made by the referees. We want to teach the kids basketball but most of all we want to teach them to show respect to others and to be Good Sports win or lose. Violators will be removed from the gym. This is for the good of our children and I think that we can all agree that this is why we are here. Let's have a great season and display great Sportsmanship along the way! Monday, December 1
Tournament Weekend
Our tournaments will be on the weekend of January 10 and 11. The Championship games will be on Sunday at 2:00 and 4:00. Mark your calendars! Monday, November 24 Pre K - 2nd Grade Games Although there are no scores kept in the Begginners Leagues, there is a lot of excitement. The players and the coaches are doing an outstanding job. Please remember that the purpose of these leagues is to teach the children basic basketball skills and concepts. They will all learn at differnt paces and in different ways. We are trying some different methods in teaching this year and I think we will all be pleased at the end of the season to see how far we have come. Thanks so much to all of the very patient coaches.
