Predators host title contender Wolverines
The 4-4 Predators, in a continued effort to make a run in the playoffs will spend Saturday afternoon in the blazing heat playing host to the 6-2 Utah Wolverines.
The Wolverines and their #3 ranked defense could end the Predators two game win streak and dash the hopes for Pocatello to participate in the post season. Led by one of the leagues toughest linebacker duos in Matt Shoda and Roger Shulze, who have a combined tally of over 70 tackles, the Wolverines hope to put a damper on the surging Pocatello quarterback Jordan Peterson and his favorite wideout Brandon Peebler.
Pocatello meanwhile, is set on proving to the league that they belong in the playoffs and will stop at nothing to get there. Coming off a big win over the Utah Heat last week, the Predators will look to a multiple threat backfield from Cj Betencourt, Jeff May and David Stanislowski.
Gametime is set for 3:05 pm, and hour early from the normal gametime. The Utah Wolverines will be bringing their television production and film crew to broadcast the game on Comcast. For the most part, this will be for Utah cable customers only, but can be viewed for a premium on Comacst on Demand (www.comcast.com). Also, the production company has agreed to supply any player or fan with a DVD of the broadcast for $15. Please see a member of the Predator management after the game to arrange that. The $15 will need to be paid directly to the production company at the game.
The Predators coaching staff has asked that all players report to the locker rooms promptly at 1:00 for meeting and pre-game.

Pocatello hosts the Utah Heat in a must win situation.
The Pocatello Predators (3-4) will spend Saturday evening fighting the traveling Utah Heat (4-3) for what may likely end up being the final AAA playoff spot.
The Utah Heat, led by quarterback Jeff Wissler and his two sons Tyler and Mike at receiver bring their top ranked offense in the RMFL to Pocatello to face off with a gritty and tough Predator defense. Coming off of a heroic, and according to some, superhuman fourth quarter comeback to down the Lionz at their home field scoring 22 points in the final minutes, the Heat have a great deal of momentum in their last two games.
Meanwhile, Pocatello was able to earn their third win of the season on the road against a gritty Muddogs team that fought to the very last second. Pocatello has faced their fair share of challenges this year, and this week will be no different with the liklihood thatdefensive star Troy Sutton and star offensive lineman Eric Hancock will both be on the sideline with imjuries.
Gamestime will be at 4:oo at Highland High School, and kickoff will be at 4:05 sharp. As a reminder, Pocatello will be wearing their white jerseys, and the Heat have been assigned to wear their blacks. All Pocatello players should report to the locker rooom no later than 2:30, however, the locker rooms will be opened at 2pm.

Predators travel to Utah to face the Muddogs.
In a game that is being dubbed by the Predators as an early playoff game, Pocatello will head to West Valley City to square off with the Muddogs fresh off their first win on the year.
The Muddogs (1-5) are the 2006 AA RMFL Champions that by new league rules got bumped up to AAA after their cinderella season. While the Muddogs have had their share of setbacks in 2007, they have battled out every game and given a number of AAA teams a run for their money. However, without their All-Star QB, Jordan Kjar, they have only been able to pull out the win over the winless Boise Speed.
Pocatello, on the other hand, has also had it's share of setbacks and is battling every week for what may end up being the final playoff spot. This week, along with the final two regular season games at home are all "playoff" games, as a loss in any of the three will virtually eliminate the Predators from post season contention altogether.
The Predators' are hoping to ride QB Jordan Peterson's continued improvement through the remaining three regular season games and into the playoff.
The team management has asked that all players needing rides or looking to carpool to meet at the Ramada Inn parking lot at 10 am prior to traveling to Utah. Gametime will begin at 3 pm, and Pocatello has been asked by the Muddogs to wear our blue jerseys.

Predators travel to Logan for rematch with Da Bears.
The Predators (2-3), fresh off of a big cross-state rivalry win over the still winless Boise SPeed look to avenge their preseason thumping as they travel to Logan again to face Da Bears (4-1).
The Predators are very aware of Cache Valley's capabilities, and with the addition of a few key players they hope to be able to challenge the Bears for what most of the league considers a vacation week for the boys in blue.
The Predators coaching staff has asked that all player needing a ride or looking to carpool meet at the Ramada Inn parking lot for a 3:00 pm departure. Those attending the funeral of slain Iraq War hero Blake Stevens will be excused from the carpool, however, please be on time to the game.
Also, please remember that we are wearing our BLUE jerseys against the Bears. Please pass the word.

Predators traviel to Boise to face off with Speed.
After a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Eastern Idaho Lionz (4-0), the Predators (1-3) now travel to Eagle, ID to square off with the so far winless Boise Speed. Although both teams seem to be all but eliminated from post season play, the Predators expect a battle from the Speed (0-4), as this rivalry has been developing over the past four years.
Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm on Eagle's primary field. Locker rooms will be opened by 4:00 and Predators players are expected to be there by that time.
Those needing a ride, or are looking for a carpool, the team is asking that everyone meet at the Ramada Inn at 11:45 and plan on departing Pocatello by 12 noon.
Friday, May 4
Predators begin 4 week road stretch at Eastern Idaho
The Predator coaching staff is asking that all players meet at the Ramada Inn parking lot at 3:00 pm to arrange car pools and get a head count. The caravan will be leaving promptly at 3:30 pm. Predators look to keep ball rolling after win over Salt Lake.
 | | | | Salt Lake's Nate Cone looks to throw over Dan Crabtree. |
The Pocatello Predators (1-1) are set to host their arch rivals, the Idaho Falls Mustangs (0-2), Saturday, April 28 at Highland High School.
After their rebounding 17-8 win over the Salt Lake Seminoles, the Predators look to build some momentum in week 3 against a slow starting Mustang team from just 40 miles up I-15.
Led by quarterback Jordan Peterson, the Pocatello offense finally was able to put a few points on the board and hang in with the ever steady Predator defense against a Seminoles team who just refused to give up.
Peterson conected with Brandon Peebler four times throughout the game to lead the receiving corps with 39 yards. The real offensive story was the long awaited emergence of the Pocatello running game. Led by two way stars Troy Sutton and Jeff May, when combined, rushed for 98 yards on only 8 carries and paved the way for the offense to run for over 170 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, Troy Sutton and Kaleb Moir led the way yet again with 7 tackles a piece. Jeff May and Cameron Hicks pulled in their fair share of tackles as well with 5 and 4.5 respectively. The biggest difference between the Seminoles and the Rhinos games for the defense was the ability of the Predator defense to force turnovers with five. Kelly Nebeker led the turnover battle with two interceptions and one forced fumble, which he also recovered, Brandon Peebler and Tom Shawcroft also both pitched in a Nate Cone interception as well.
Even though the Mustangs have opened up with two road losses, the Predators are not going to be fooled by an 0-2 record. Idaho Falls lost to two suprisingly very good ball clubs in the Utah Wolverines and the Utah Heat. The biggest worry for Pocatello is Idaho Falls' multi faceted offensive threat. The Donovan Ard to Scott Brown connection is as deadly as ever, and the Travis Boden one man rushing attack is now two man plus, with CJ Campbell carrying a load of carries.
Idaho Falls defense just has too many stars to go through by name, but rest assured, the Mustang defense is top notch and will present Pocatello with likely more problems than they can handle every down.
This game has had bad blood spilled all over it for the last four years and after Pocatello knocked Idaho Falls out of the playoffs in the quarter finals in 2006, the Mustangs are sure to want revenge, and will stop at nothing to get it.
Kickoff is set for 4:05 at Highland HS. Tickets are sold at the gate for $5, students and senior citizens are $4, and Highland HS students are free with a valid activity cars. Saturday's matchup with the Mustangs is also City of Pocatello Day, where all Pocatello city employees and their families are free with their work ID.

Predators host 1-0 Salt Lake Seminoles.
The Pocatello Predators (0-1) are set for their second of three home games to open the 2007 season as they prepare for the Salt Lake Seminoles (1-0) Saturday, April 21 at 4:05.
The Seminoles, who beat the Boise Speed in Boise on opening day are looking to defy all odds and prognostications of them having a winless season and a last place finish.
The Seminoles are led by longtime RMFL vet and repeat all-star, Nate Cone at quarterback, who in game one against the Speed threw for two touchdowns, one that went for 53 yards to his favorite target Harold Regin as they beat a solid Boise squad 14-7.
Defensively, Salt Lake boast's a solid front 7 that gave Boise's running attack all it could handle. Offensive stand out Regin, who also doubles as the Seminoles strong safety, is arguably the best player on that unit and will make the Predator receiving corps really work for every yards they gain.
Kickoff is set for 4:05pm at Highland High School.

Defense shines while the offense is a glare in home opener.
 | | | QB Jordan Peterson gets rid of the ball before getting hit by Setema Gali. | |
The Predators defense showed they are going to be a solid unit when lining up every weekend as they held a potent Rhino Raider offense to, by their standards, a dismal 21 points.
Troy Sutton led the Predators with 6 1/2 tackles on the afternoon as they held one of the league's best running backs, Justin Oswald to a mere 5 yards per carry and one touchdown. Justin DeFour led the Rhinos receivers with 7 receptions for 95 yards and two first half touchdowns. However the big story for the day was the Predator front 7 keeping the pressure on an otherwise deadly Dave Stireman causing a fumble and a Jeff May interception which was returned to the Rhinos' 11 yard line. Unfortunatley for the Predators, for every turnover Stireman committed, he also threw a matching touchdown,
Offensively, the much improved Jordan Peterson looked to redeem himself in front of his howetown crowd, however, all the good reads and decisions in the world he could make couldn't buy him any time from the blitzing defense that seemed to waltz, tango and a few times even sache through the Predators offensive line. The Rhinos' incessant blitzing gave the Predators offense a headache all game, and never really seemed to find a way to stop it. Peterson went 9-25, with one interception on the outing finding Brandon Peebler three times for 33 yards to lead the Predators receiving corps.
Unfortunately for the Predators the two stats that hurt them the most was the 86 yards in penalties and giving up four sacks for 22 yards, which when all the numbers are tallied, meant that the Predators had four more yards in penalties than in total net offensive production. The Predators are dead set on making a few offensive adjustments this week as they prepare for the opening day winners, the Salt Lake Seminoles.
