In December 2006 our league lost a dear friend and long-time volunteer in League Secretary, Elaine Norris. Elaine served on the league's board of directors for 3 years. She was also the gregarious MC for our Annual Awards picnic.
In honor of Elaine's dedicated service to the league and its families, we established the annual Elaine Norris Volunteer of The Year Award. This award will be given to the nominee who best displays dedication to the players and families of the Palatine North Little League and the spirit of volunteerism that Elaine so aptly modeled for us.
To nominate someone for the Elaine Norris Volunteer of The Year Award, please send an e-mail to palnorth@palatinelittleleague.org or in a letter to the league (see address below) with the name of the person you are nominating and a brief description of how that person meets the criteria for the award and why you feel they should receive it. You can nominate anyone. Managers, Coaches, Parents, Umpires, Players, Board Members, all are eligible.
Submissions must be received by June 30th (either on the website or
postmarked on written correspondence) and the Palatine North Little
League board from all submissions received will choose an award
recipient. The recipient will be presented with a plaque during our
annual picnic.
