Request for Missing forms

MISSING FORMS LIST:

The following attachment contains the names of band members who were in attendance at the Kick-Off meeting, but did not hand in forms.  Please review the list and if your name appears, obtain the proper forms, fill them out, and hand them in at the high school.  There were also five students who did not attend the meeting.  Those names are listed and those students are to see me for copies of all the forms.  Color guard is not currently listed in the attachment.  A completed roster is being created for guard and a separate list will be sent soon with names of guard students who have not handed forms in.  If you are in guard and you know you have not handed the forms in, do not wait for the list to come out.  Get your forms in too!

The list will also be posted on our band website: www.eteamz.com/pmmu.  The website will be used on a more regular basis this year, so bookmark it on your web browser!  Thank you everyone for your prompt attention to this matter!

From the Director
Hello everyone!  There’s some important information I want to pass on to all of you.  Please take a minute to read through the items below and attend the next Booster meeting with your questions.  The meeting will be focused primarily on the Florida trip, so everyone going on the trip should attend.  Thanks!

1) An initial itinerary has been sent to us and the students in band received it.  Guard students had not received a copy unless they were in band or stopped by the band room.  There were some times that needed to be adjusted as is the normal process for setting the time line for a trip like this.  A couple of parents had contacted me with concerns and/or suggestions and those were met in a way I think is acceptable.  A new, revised itinerary will be distributed at the booster meeting next Tuesday.  Basically, we are eating breakfast later in the morning and getting back to the hotels a little sooner in the evenings.

2) Mark your calendars!  July 5th and 6th the Cadets are coming to Millersville!  We are hosting the 9 time DCI world champions who will be holding their one day camp called “Music is Fun”  Because Penn Manor has agreed to host, ALL Penn Manor band and guard students are able to attend the event for free!  More details to come.  I understand this is the 4th of July weekend and some of you may be out of town on vacation.  This is not a mandatory event for Penn Manor students, but it is a huge opportunity for the students that can attend....and it’s FREE!!!!  Parents and students wanting to know more about the program can go to the following website:

3) Forms are still coming in for next season.  Remember that all forms need to be handed in, including the $40 activity fee by the first mini-camp.  Don’t forget about the physicals that are scheduled at the high school on June 10 and July 29.  Those forms are due the first day of band camp.  Any questions about forms, please email me right away.  Also, make sure your students have reviewed the handbook for next year.  The staff will be taking extra measures to follow the rules outlined in the book, especially with so many new members to the organization.

4) Students should already be practicing their music for next season!  Informal playing checks will be made through out the summer to track student’s progress on the music.  And as always, the playing tests at the end of band camp will be administered.

5) Band pictures are scheduled for the first Friday of band camp.  Students will need to be in full uniform that day.  The company taking the pictures is Lifetouch.  This company already takes pictures for all the elementary schools so many of you might already be familiar with their work.  The pictures that will be taken and sold also act as a fundraiser for the band so buy lots of pictures this coming year!  Pictures will also be sent to the yearbook staff at the high school so they have plenty to put into the yearbook next year!

Again, I hope to see everyone next Tuesday at the Booster meeting.  Parents, enjoy the few days left of the school year before we give you your children back!  Thanks everyone for a great year.  Looking forward to this next year as well!
