Recertification for 2005 - grades 8 and 9
11/06/2004 update (information from Jeff DeLuca, State Director of Instruction): Grade 9's may re-register without the additional training and refresher test. Email referee@plymouthsoccer.org if you need more information.
In order to maintain your referee registration for future years (read 2005 and beyond), the requirement is for additional training each year, as well as taking a refresher test. Please check out the list of clinics at: http://www.ussoccer.com/referees/content.sps?iType=4169&icustompageid=6684
This page also has a link to the Referee Administrative Handbook. This is a PDF document that you can download (about 3 Meg). Pages 20 and 21 outline the requirements for renewing referee certification. For grade 8's it's 5 hours. The intermediate clinic at St. Davids, PA (Eastern College) is the closest one, and is only held once a year. You can see the contact info on the link above. The info says grades 7 and 8, but you should be able to attend even if you are a 9 - call to make sure.
Continuing education can also be obtained by attending local referee chapter meetings - each meeting is worth one hour. The local chapters can be seen at http://www.eteamz.com/epsarc/ on the left hand side.
If you do not get the continuing education, you will not be able to register for the following year.
Plymouth Soccer is NOT currently planning to run any classes that will count towards continuing education.
