WORLD FASTPITCH CONNECTION WORLD SERIES INFORMATION LETTER 

World Fastpitch Connection welcomes your team to the 2008 WFC World Series Events. We are ecstatic about the enormous number of teams that we already have signed up for this year’s events.  

All games are 1 hour & 20 mins. Teams are seeded by pool play into double elimination. The Home team is the official score/. It is each team responible to turn in pool games scores. One mistake can mess up a team seeding. Remember ones we post seeding we will Not change. Seeding makes every game count and for a World Series this is important.But these are Not true seeding due to teams do Not play all the teams in pool play.With this in mind all bracket game there will still be a coin flip at home plate before game

WFC World Series B Class in Savannah, GA on Monday July 14th,2008. A team representative must check in at Paulson Park located at 7171 Skidway Drive Savannah, GA 31406 between the hours of 3 and 5PM on Monday July14th. Coaches will need to fill out a survey card.Coaches please remember that failure to turn in a signed WFC roster can lead to disqualification.  The social gathering will be at Paulson Park July 14th from 6-8PM. Teams will be announced during the fellowship gathering. Teams will line-up along Field 2 at Paulson Park. Starting with 10u teams thru 18u teams. It is a MUST for teams to confirm attendance and be onsite  no later than 5:40pm . Paulson Park has parking available in the front and rear of the complex as well as parking at the football stadium behind the rear parking lot. 

 Opening Ceremonies For WFC World Series A Class in Myrtle Beach, SC on Monday August 4th,2008. A team representative must check in at the Pepper Geddings Complex at 3201 Oak Street Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 between the hours of 3 and 5PM on Monday August 4th. Coaches will need to fill out a survey card at this time.  Coaches please remember that failure to turn in a signed WFC roster can lead to disqualification.  The social gathering will be at Pepper Geddings Complex from 6-8PM on Monday August 4th. Teams will be announced during the fellowship gathering. Teams will line-up along Field C at Pepper-Geddings starting with 10u teams thru 18u teams. It is a MUST for teams to confirm attendance and be on site no later than 5:40pm . 

To ensure that all Opening Ceremonies operate smoothly WFC must know if your team will be participating in any of the following Ceremony Events.          

  Parade of Teams and Team trading pin exchange           

 Players and parents will be separated at the field gate to allow for proper team line-up.

Each team and player will be formerly announced as they parade around the field.             Fastest Runner Contest Ages 8U -18U           

Egg Toss Contest Ages 8U- 18U          

  Home run Contest Ages 10U- 18U             

 WFC must know if your team plans to participate in the gift exchange so that we may schedule participating teams for exchange. We do not want any team to feel pressure about participating or not in this exchange. This exchange is designed for participating teams to give a small gift bag item or items to represent the area from which their team is from. After check in we will find out which teams will be participating in the team gift exchange. This will ensure that participating teams will be matched up. 

Please do not exchange until WE match you up.  Could be a pool game or bracket game.  Teams do not have to participate in all or any of these events. These events are strictly for the entertainment of the players. 

 We would like to remind all teams that you may preorder your WFC World Series T-shirts to ensure that you get the sizes that you want. The price is $15.00 each and may be ordered in sizes Youth Medium through Adult XXXL. All preorders may be picked up at opening ceremonies and paid for at that time. We will have t-shirts available at the tournament on a first come first serve basis.  

Teams are allowed ONE team coolers but no grills. WFC does require that all parents, fans, coaches and players are on their best behavior while attending WFC World Series Events. WFC will not tolerate any unpartisan like behavior. Anyone who shows that they cannot behave in a proper manner will be asked to leave the complex immediately. Coaches please understand that sometimes there are calls that they do not agree with all the time. But, it is the coaches responsibility to his team to keep his cool and show good sportsmanship. Teams please clean up dugouts after You use them. 

WFC will not be providing water coolers in the dugouts this year. In the past we have found that people will put their hands in the water, take out the ice or simply remove the coolers. This year at check in each team’s representative will receive 1 case of bottled water.  In case of inclement weather all coaches must come to the fields to check in with WFC staff for any updated to the game schedule. Please do not call or go to the website for any updates because the WFC staff will be at the complexes with schedule updates. 

The WFC B Class World Series schedule will be posted by July 10th. Roughly the schedule will be as follows pool play Tuesday &  Wed, with most teams playing two games a day. Thursday morning bracket will start. If we have pretty good weather the event ends Sat night at 6:30 pm Championships. Sunday July 20th is a rain day.At WFC B World Series all fields will at 200 ft outfields.  

The WFC A Class World Series schedule will be posted by Aug 2th. Roughly the schedule will be as follows pool play Tues & Wed, with most teams playing either two games a day or one game for one day. Thurs morning bracket will start. If we have pretty good weather the event ends Sat night at 6:30 pm Championships. Sunday Aug 10th is a rain day.At WFC A World Series all fields will at 200 ft outfields. 

 Pool games are 1 hour & 20 mins finish the inning.  if the home team is ahead,  the game is over. The pool games can end in a tie.Teams are seeded by pool play into bracket play

Schedule is subject to change due to weather and many more possible reasons

Teams there is no warming-up on the infields.

Teams be ready to play 30 mins. before scheduled times 

Bracket  games are 1 hour & 20 mins. 

Championship Games are no time limit , 6 inning for the 10u bracket or run rule 12, 10, 8

Championship Games are  no time limit, 7 inning for the 12u ,14u,16,18u brackets or run rule 12, 10, 8

 Everyone should realize the schedule is subject to change. By teams dropping out, or adding teams, due to rain, lights not working, field damage, games going extra inning,mistake made in schedule, and many more reasons.Because of this, teams need to expect the possible of late games on Sat. night and tournament format can be changed.
