'Fathers Know Best Youth Foundation' Presents PLAYTIME BASKETBALL

Fathers Know Best Youth Foundation is a New Jersey non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization which supports AAU sports, education & mentoring opportunities for the youth as well as participating in community outreach programs with local children's hospitals in New Jersey and its surrounding areas.

Our mission is to inspire our youth to become leaders, champions, student-athletes and to empower them to be successful in school and life through sports, education and community relation that will facilitate systemic change. We promote values of selfless service that provides a safe haven in the community. In addition to promoting positive change and growth for children ages of 6 – 15, F K Best assists with building character that's exemplified by leadership. Our particular focus is OUR youth. We set out to strengthen their abilities and help them set short/long term goals and strive for realistic dreams. We execute our mission by conducting programs for the youth primarily in New Jersey and then branching out on a national level.

F K Best established the Youth Foundation in 2007. Funding for the Foundation was made possible by parents of current players who participated on the Teaneck Youth All Star basketball team and Bronx Kings ~ AAU basketball organization. The parents are honest and hard working individuals who love their children and support their activities. Over the past years, many of the parents have watched their children play for various organizations. Since then, we've decided to build an organization and youth foundation that would benefit our children. We create opportunities and provide support for promising youth to fulfill their potential in the classroom, on the court and in the community.

Birth of Fathers Know Best Youth Foundation. Connecting people and organizations around common goals ~ FKB serve as a catalyst by encouraging leaders (i.e. Educators, Athletes, Entrepreneurs and Musicians) to speak with our children and primarily focus on their fields of expertise. They stress the importance of education, family, sportsmanship and careers. Our objective is to establish an AAU Basketball organization ~ “PLAYTIME”. We have competed in many local and regional basketball circuits as well as nationally, under the direction of our volunteer parents. F K Best established a mentoring program ~ “Mothers Know Better after Dark”. Our mentoring program relies greatly on parent participation. We set out to provide tutoring sessions, travel outings such as visits to Museums, Learning centers and designated Monumental sites.

In 2008, F K Best established a community outreach program ~ "THOUGHTS for KIDS". Our community outreach program reaches out to disadvantaged children in the community and sick children in the local Children's Hospitals, throughout the holiday season, and provides gifts and toys.

Playtime Takes Baby Baller MLK Classic Title

Baby Baller MLK Classic 11U Championship Recap: Playtime Finally Gets It Done.

Playtime Takes Baby Baller MLK Classic Title

Jaheim Tanklsey scored 20 points and Jordan McKoy added 12 points as Playtime Panthers defeated Team Nelson 48-37 to win the Baby Baller MLK Classic 11U Championship. Trevon Alderman poured in a team high 19 points in the loss. Playtime's coach Mike Richardson felt good to finally grab the banner. "It was a long time coming. We came in second in 3 consecutive Spotlight events. Now we can say we finally got over the hump. I'm so proud of my boys" he finished.

MVP: Jaheim Tanksley (Playtime)
Tanskley was remarkable in the finals. The pint size point guard did damage with his floater in the lane. But really hurt Team Nelson hearts by banging home deep jumpers even a trey ball from NBA range. When money time came Tanksley stepped up and cashed in.

Next we will bring you the top performers from each position during the MLK Classic.

Baby Baller MLK Classic Recap: 12U Top Forwards

Baby Baller MLK Classic Recap: 12U Top Forwards

Alonzo Frink (Playtime)- I heard about Frink tearing up competition in North Jersey and finally got a chance to see him in action. The first aspect of his game that caught my attention was his range from the perimeter. The stocky power forward is very comfortable behind the arc and he showed it by connecting some several treys over the weekend. Inside he banged the boards and maneuvered on the baseline. He scored 20 points against NWK and hurt KSK for 16 markers in their rival win.

Baby Baller MLK Classic Recap: 12U Top Guards Part 2

BJ Saliba (Playtime)- Saliba helped Playtime make the final four by banging home mid range jumpers and scoring in transition. His best scoring game of the tournament was when he scored 14 points against NWK in their pool play win. He also hit a couple of big shots during their semifinal win against KSK.

Baby Baller MLK Classic Recap: 12U Top Guards Part 1

Jalen Lecque (Playtime Panthers)

The 12U Division at the Baby Baller MLK Classic had some serious talent. Here’s a breakdown of some of the top guard that showcased their game in America’s Playground.

Baby Baller MLK Classic 12U Top Guards Part 1

Jalen Lecque (Playtime Panthers)-
The purpose of this event was to give the Baby Ballers a stage to shine and Lecque took full advantage. He starred as a scorer and passer all weekend but really stepped in their quarterfinal win versus KSK. Jalen scored a game high 21 points including a big time trey ball in the closing minutes. He had a big time weekend.

Zegary Scott (Playtime Panthers)- Scott proved to be a tough backcourt mate with Lecque. He was in the mix applying the defensive pressure and converting turnovers into easy buckets. He can play both guard spots well but is more suited for running the point. He’s one of the most underrated guards in the region.

Baby Baller MLK Classic Preview: Jordan "Is The Real" McCoy

Baby Baller MLK Classic Preview: Jordan Is The Real McCoy

Jordan "The Real" McCoy (Playtime)

Playtime Panthers were the toast of the state in NJ last season. They won the NJ AAU State title and Jordan McCoy was one the main reasons. The wiry guard has the tools to be a big time player in the future. His coach Mike Richardson knows about his skills, “Jordan is the most versatile player in the 11U Division. He played all 5 positions while helping us win 19 out of 21 championships last season” said Mike.

This season Playtime has won 2 out of 3 championships only finishing 2nd at the Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic. “The Real” McCoy is a player that Basketball Spotlight has on our radar so we will be playing close attention to his progress. Can Jordan help Playtime win the Baby Baller MLK Classic crown? We will see in America’s Playground.

10U Top Performers From The Baby Baller Bonanza

Basketball Spotlight Season Award Winners
Jordan McCoy Guard (Playtime)- When you watch McCoy play you can see potential written all over this youngster. He’s a fluid wing guard already and has a nice deep range jumper. I look forward to watching McCoy and Hoggard battle for years to come.

Akrum Ahemed Forward (Playtime)- Akrum operated inside for the NJ State Champs. He used the glass well and dribbled past the shot blockers. His inside play helped Team Nelson make their late rally.him.

Makhi Moore Guard (Playtime)- Moore is a good ball handler while running the show for the Panthers. He does a good job of not turning over the pill and getting his teammates involved.

Playtime Cruised To The Championship

Playtime raced out to an early lead and went on to defeat Philly Triple Threat 54-35 to win the 12U Championship at the AGame Super Shootout. The Panthers had a balanced scoring attack in their victory.

Top Performers

Boubacar Kamissoko Guard (Playtime)- This kid lived on the fast break. He leaked out several times for uncontested layups. In the half court set he attacked from the wing and used twisting finishes to earn points. He also can be deadly from behind the arc. He had a huge weekend scoring the ball.

JJ Jinwright Guard (Playtime)- This was my first time checking out this kid and I like the tools he possess. He joined Boubacar in being a major problem in transition. I like the wiggle in his game and his ability to finish. I see him moving over to the point guard position.

Lydell Geffard Forward (Playtime)- The developing forward has great size and a soft touch but what really impressed me was the way he threw the outlet pass. Lydell made life very easy for his streaking teammates by hitting them with Joe Montana type long passes. On defense he blocked or altered several shots that led to easy buckets on the other end.

Mike Watkins Guard (Playtime)- Playtime has a load of scoring but Watkins controls the flow and makes sure the rock gets shared equally. Instead of using flash Watkins is a crafty guard that relies on his basketball IQ to get the job done.

Clash For The 10U Recap: Team Takeover Prevails over PLAYTIME

Jahmir Young and Jason Gibson scored 9 points apiece as Team Takeover defeated Playtime Panthers 35-27 to win the Clash For The Cup 10U Championship. Jordan McKoy scored 7 points for Playtime in the loss.

Top Performers

Jordan McKoy Forward (Playtime)- McKoy was a problem all tournament because at his size he still can handle the rock and score like a guard. He has good range on his outside shot and will go inside to snatch a few boards. He should a good one in the future.

Makhai Moore Guard (Playtime)- Playtime has an up and coming guard in Moore. He gets anywhere he wants on the floor and will hit teammates on the move with the correct pass. We will be keeping an eye on this baby baller.

Murad Mostafa Forward (Playtime)- Murad battles hard on the blocks and will give you a spin move or two to get buckets. He does all the dirty work for the Green and Black.

Team Takeover 10U Champs

Jason Gibson Guard (Team Takeover)- Gibson is a cleaver ball handler and can also shoot the pill. He thrives in the open floor by pushing the rock and looking for teammates. This kid has a lot of heart and passion for the game. He has major swagger.

Jahmir Young Guard (Team Takeover)- The southpaw is a showman. He has a good crossover for a player so and he even likes to use the fake pass in transition. He has some swift moves and craftiness in his game already. He’s exciting to watch.

Garrett Kirkland Guard (Team Takeover)- Kirkland is a hard nose guard with some good guard skills. He likes getting out on the break and doing his thing while also being able to shoot from deep. He scored a game high 17 points against T Town Ballers.
