Summer 2009
A special congratulations to Trent Stevenson (Players Baseball Academy graduate)! Trent was selected in the 7th Round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2009 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. He signed his professional contract on July 23, 2009. We wish Trent the best as he pursues his dream . . . check out other outstanding graduates on the Alumni page.
Congratulations to the Padres! During the summer of 2009, Players Baseball Academy fielded it's first Collegiate Team (Padres) in the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat League. We boasted a 29-3 record (including playoffs), a 25 game winning streak and Championship with our inaugural college team. |

Players Baseball Academy is a non-profit organization dedicated to emotional, social, mental and physical development of youth athletes. The Academy fields competitive and developmental teams. We have teams at every age group 9U-18U.
The Academy is Directed by Menno Wickey. Coach Wickey is a former University of Arizona outfielder (1991-1995) and former professional player. Currently, Coach Wickey is responsible of the day-to-day operation of the Academy, training coaching staff and implementing practice plans. Coach Wickey is also responsible for evaluating High School, Junior College and NCAA talent as an Associate Scout for the Washington Nationals.
The Academy's coaching staff consists of former/current college and/or professional players. The Academy prides itself on delivering the best instruction in Arizona. The main mission is to get the most out of each player who participates. Players Baseball Academy participants practice twice per week, play weekend instructional games and tournaments.
