FATBURGER FINISHES OFF SUCCESSFUL 2005 CAMPAIGN
The 2005 Season represented the growth of our organization. We had six seniors who had been with Fatburger the past two seasons and there dedication was rewarded with an outstanding season. Ryan Pearman, Matt Worthey, Chris Roberts, Kellen Klein, Sam Milne, and Brent Nakamura contributed so much to the success of our program over the past two years. Fatburger added Seniors Brian Bradshaw and Lyndon Estill for 2005 as well and both of them contributed greatly in 2005. It will be a little weird not to have those names to pencil in on the line-up card next season. Both Roberts and Pearman notched seven wins in there final season. Kellen Klein was again outstanding at 1B. A true competitor that expected nothing less than perfection of himself and his teammates. Matt Worthey who led the pitching staff in 2004 was sidelined for the beginning of 2005 with arm troubles stemming from his HS Season but Matt was able to contribute at the plate in 2005. Both Brent Nakamura and Sam Milne battle the injury bug during the season. Brent was the starting SS for most of 2004 and until mide June was the SS until shoulder problems sidelined Brent. Brent has been able to recover and will try-out for Shoreline CC this fall. Sam Milne the insporational leader battled severe tendinitis and gutted out every inning. Sam's enthusiasum for the game and his teammates will be tough to replace. The steady play of all the Seniors allowed the 2005 team to win 3 tournaments and have our most successful season ever. Newcomers Tyler Clay, Cameron Akita, Daniel Bunger, Aaron Fox, Zach Enyeart, Tommy Eulberg and Nick Hemphill added losts of versitility and depth to the roster.
The injury bug infected the team at the end of June, but great performances held Fatburger beat the likes of Chaffey, and Baden. Junior catcher Braden Davis was basically the last man standing behind the dish for almost a month. Braden will be entering his third season for Fatburger in 2006. Offensively Tommy Eulberg led the club with a .398 avg and five homeruns. Collectively the everyday lineup was able to produce 100 more runs than the 2004 team and the pitching staff team era went from 3.50 in 2004 to 3.00 for 2005. Pitching coach Dan Galaz did an outstanding job with the staff. Fatburger won teh Super Series tournament in Omaha, Wilder Firecracker tournament in Port Angeles(Beating WSU bound Jared Prince in the finals) and the first annual Big Fat Deal at Eastlake/Issaquah HS. The Big Fat Deal was a huge success and a great way for the Seniors to go out on top like they deserved. We look forward to the 2006 Season but will never forget the team work and dedication everyone put forth. A big thanks also to GM Hank Klein for all his efforts throughout the season. We will miss his contributions and dedication.
