7/21 - The 2017 Pittsburgh NABA playoffs are set to kick off this evening. Check back for updates on the games and brackets as they progress!

AAA Preview - 9 teams will compete for the top honor in the Pittsburgh NABA.  Jefferson Hills (1), led by Keith Reynolds, looks to claim their first AAA title, and second Pittsburgh NABA title overall (2013).  They earned top seeding this year, and will face either Ohio Valley (5), or Steel City (4) in the semifinals.  Ohio Valley, formerly of the Greater Pittsburgh Federation League, will seek to defeat two-time Federation League Champions (2011, 2014) Steel City.  Ohio Valley is led by long-time skipper Pat Reilly, while Steel City is helmed by Dustin Mills.

In the other side of the bracket, the Cherokee (2) and Bulldogs (3) earned first-round byes.  The Cherokee are led by Rob Cool, who has won three Pittsburgh NABA Championships previously (2008, 2014, 2015).  They will face the winner of the Shaler Rebels (7) and Brookline Black Sox (8).  Shaler, led by Mark Dobson, won the 2016 AA title, and the 2013 single A title.  They seek to be the first team to capture a title in all three Pittsburgh NABA Leagues.  The three-time Pittsburgh NABA Champion Black Sox (2004, 2006, 2010) are managed by Matt Schimdt and feature 15-year veteran (and newlywed) Kenny Rayl. The Black Sox are one of the three remaining original franchises in the NABA (Warriors and Ducks are the other two).

The Bulldogs won their first Pittsburgh NABA Championship in 2016, and are seeking to defend their title.  Led by manager Jeff Trojan, they will face the winner of West End-Elliott (6), and Robinson (9).  Elliott is led by Steve Smith, while Robinson is helmed by Scott Zegeer.  Both teams are loaded with young talent, and are poised to be a surprise team in this year's playoffs.

AA Preview - In the NABA's largest league, 11 teams will challenge for the title.  The South Side Eagles (1), founded in 2004, earned the top overall seed, and will look to earn their first ever title.  Chief among their challengers will be the expansion Bakery Square Bandidos (2), led by John Friend, and the South Oakland Ducks of the North Side (3).  The Ducks are an original NABA franchise and are led by 15-year vet Ben Gwin.  They won the inaugural Pittsburgh NABA Championship in 2003, and won again in 2010.  The League also features competition from former NABA Champions Wolfpack (A-2014), Devils (A-2011), and Pittsburgh D2 (A-2016).

A Preview - The Warriors (1) will seek to become the league's first ever four time NABA Champion.  Having previously won in  2005, 2012, and 2015; the Justin Newman led team features former NABA President and 15-year vet Craig Boley, and former NABA manager Ian Overbaugh.  The Warriors are one of the original teams in the league, and will be challenged by some of its newest.   The Sheraden Jays (2), who claimed the second seed on the strength of a strong second half of their season, look to unseat the League's powerhouse team under steady leadership from manager Rick Helterbran.  The single A leagues' 7 teams aside from the Warriors have all joined the league since 2011, and all will seek to claim their first single A title.
