The Piranha have been ranked in the top 10 nationally in 11 of the last 14 seasons, including 5 league championships and 2 National Championships. The Piranha are based in Harrisburg, PA and play their home games at the "Fish Tank" on Harrisburg City Island.
Sunday, November 30 Piranha GM Visits MU
Recently, Piranha General Manager Dave Kmiecik visited his alma mater, Millersville University. Kmiecik was invited to speak to the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
In addition to increasing the visibility of the Piranha football organization, Kmiecik enlightened the students on the field of Public Relations as it relates to sports. "It was a good experience to have Dave speak to our group. They really appreciated his insight and valued his opinions," stated Rebecca Barker, President of the Millersville Chapter of PRSSA.
The group meets on a weekly basis, and is supervised by Dr. Thomas Boyle, Chair & Associate Professor for the Department of Communication & Theatre at Millersville University.
Sunday, November 30 Piranha Cornerback Heading to the Hall of Fame
On Friday December 5th, the Central Penn Piranha will have another member inducted into the Minor League Football News Hall of Fame.
Former cornerback Harold Williams II is the third member of the Piranha to be inducted into the MLFN HOF, and first as a player. Other MLFN HOF inductees were Jim Rovito (Coach Category, 2006) and Dave Kmiecik (Executive Category, 2007).
The Minor League Football News Hall of Fame was established in 2004 to recognize the lifetime achievement,
dedication and contribution of athletes, coaches, executives and others
connected with the sport of Minor League and Adult Amateur Football. Since that time, over 200 individual members have been recognized and
inducted. The 2008 Class consists of more than 60 men and
women across the country.
Monday, November 24 Area Youth Win PP&K Team Championship
On Sunday November 23rd, six participants from Pennsylvania took first place in the recent round of the Pepsi NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick competition that took place at Ravens' Stadium in Baltimore, MD.
The local PA youth being crowned team champions for the Baltimore Ravens were:
Girls 10-11 Kirsten Blakeslee
Girls 12-13 Sarah Firestone
Girls 14-15 Annie Wickett
Boys 8-9 Michael Humes
Boys 12-13 Michael Moore
Boys 14-15 Chad Kelly
The above winners qualified for the Baltimore Ravens' team championship by winning the sectional round in Harrisburg, PA on October 25th, hosted by the Central Penn Piranha.
Piranha staff members Travis Jones (Statistician) and Cheryl Kmiecik (PR Assistant) worked the team championship in Baltimore.
Piranha Awards Banquet & HOF Inductions
It's that time of year again for the Piranha Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. All Piranha football players, staff members, cheerleaders, and their respective friends & family are invited to attend.
