OPEN MAT
Elem. Duals Wrestlers and Parents,
Hello everyone. I am writing to let everyone know of an additional opportunity for the elem. duals wrestlers to get some extra training in. Greg Whitecomb and I will be running extra training sessions throughout the season. The sessions will be 1 hour in length and will be directly after normal scheduled practices (5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. @CYMS). The sessions will focus more on live wrestling, hard drilling and strength training. I will be posting as sign up sheet in the wrestling room. I would like the wrestlers to sign up with a partner close to their own size and ability, if at all possible. Wrestlers will be responsible to arrange for transportation home. I will try and stay one week ahead with the sign up sheet and an email outlining which days we will be having the extra sessions. Make sure all wrestlers attending open mat have a partner.
This week we had the extra session on Wed. and we had 7 wrestlers attend. I would like to double this next week. We had a great work out. The session went as follows:
1. Live hand fighting with focus on set-ups and lateral motion on the feet
2. Hard drill of inside and outside single legs, where the first wrestler hit the takedown and the partner immediately exploded for an escape and into his takedown.
3. Defending with face and hands and reshot off of an opponents shot
4. Live goes out of Front-Head Lock Situation
5. One Live Match
6. Greg put the guys through a great 20 minute Kettle Bell work out with numerous exercises that are wrestling related and focused on increasing core strength.
7. Reading material was handed out on how to break your opponents during practices and matches.
If we can get one or two of these sessions in per week I know it will help make a difference in the wrestler's performance. Next week I can only do one session because of my work schedule. The session will be on Wednesday night. The session will include the following:
Wednesday 12/16/09
1. More hand fighting drills
2. Drilling takedowns (a little bit more of a variety)
3. Live Front Head Lock situation
4. Live Finish Single leg situations
5. 1 or 2 live matches
6. Strength and Conditioning Training (20-30 minutes)
7. Reading Material on a mental aspect of wrestling will be handed out.
Thanks and we hope to see you there!

It is generally caused by one of two bacteria: staphylococcus aureus or group A streptococcus. Impetigo usually affects preschool and school-age children. A child may be more likely to develop impetigo if the skin has already been irritated by other skin problems, such as eczema, poison ivy, and insect bites.
Good hygiene can help prevent impetigo, which often develops when there is a sore or a rash that has been scratched repetitively (for example, poison ivy can get infected and turn into impetigo). Impetigo is typically treated with either an antibiotic cream or medication taken by mouth.
