Overall Record from 1928-present: 396-243-23 (.616)

Note: The 1940 De La Salle football, along with the 1940 Catholic Central football team, did not participate in Catholic League play for football because the two teams were the only two Class A teams in the Catholic League, so both teams played an independent schedule, with the winner of the Catholic Central/De La Salle game playing the winner of the First Division to see who would win the Catholic League. Catholic Central beat De La Salle in 1940 18-0, but lost in the Catholic League championship game to Detroit St. Theresa of Avila 19-13. In 1941, De La Salle was allowed to re-join the Catholic League in football, while Catholic Central remained an independent until 1959.

Note: From Tim Sheridan, class of 1969: "In 1965, on October 15, De La Salle lost to Osborn 15-6 @ DLS. They both had open dates. De La Salle had one because Austin was not allowed to play that season. De La Salle was 0-7 in games played that year. I don't think any of the other CHSL teams counted a forfeit win over Austin."

Editor's Note: The 1966 yearbook counted the game against Austin in 1965 as a win, so it will be counted as a 2-0 win for DLS.
