Joe Novak- Michigan High School Athlete of the Year
In a beautiful ceremony at the Fox Theatre tonight, Tuesday, March 11th, Joe Novak was named the Michigan High School Athlete of the Year by the Detroit Athletic Club, beating out 5 other finalists from the state of Michigan. The committee who decided the winner looked at three criteria: athletic achievement, academic achievement, and community and school service. With those guidelines in mind, the Detroit Athletic Club felt Joe was the best male athlete who fulfilled those requirements. Congratulations Joe! You have made your family, friends, and school proud of you in your enormous accomplishment. The class and dignity you have displayed in being a De La Salle Pilot is a model that should be followed by every De La Salle student-athlete.
