PILGRIM - SOCCER - SENIOR

Vieira scored Pilgrim's second goal in its 2-0 win over Coventry High School to clinch the Division II girls soccer state title on Saturday. Vieira also added two goals in Pilgrim's 5-2 semifinal victory over Scituate High School. The state championship is Pilgrim's second in Division II and third overall in its program's history.

A prolific scorer throughout her Pilgrim career, Vieira reached new heights last week when she scored 12 goals in three Patriot victories. She had five in a win over North Smithfield and scored five again as the Pats knocked off previously unbeaten Scituate. Vieira added two goals in Friday’s win over Mount St. Charles.

Tantimonico had a big offensive week for the Pilgrim girls' soccer team, helping lead the Pats to a pair of blowout wins. She scored a goal and had six assists - including a five-assist game on Friday - as Pilgrim won 9-2 over Warwick Vets and 6-1 over East Providence to end the season. The playoffs begin this week, with the Pats as the No. 2 overall seed in Division II.
