 2010 Registration is Almost Complete

Registration for the 2010 Season is nearing completion.  Registrations are still being accepted for all age-levels, but space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a 1st come 1st served basis until space is full in each division.  Please see the PHWYBS Registration Information for registration information.


Online Registration:
The preferred mechanism for registration is via the PHWYBS Online Registration Site.  All 2009 participants have an account and your existing password can be retrieved by entering your e-mail address into https://app1.sportssignup.com/lss/RequestPassword.aspx.  Registrants may also create new accounts as necessary.  Using online registration saves our volunteers time as it's no longer necessary to manually enter data from registration form and avoids possible data entry errors associated with paper forms.  Using your existing account will also save you time as most account and child information already exists - eliminating the need to re-enter most information.

Mail-In Registration:
Paper Registration Forms can be retrieved from the Gary Morava Recreation Center and the Wheeling Community Recreation Center.  The form can also be retrieved online at http://www.phwybs.org/files/2010Registration.pdf

Teams will be formed for all divisions of Pintos through Seniors in mid March and parents should expect calls from their coaches the week before Spring Break.  T-ball Teams will be formed in early April.

 

2010 Player Evaluations

In order to effectively create balanced teams, most of our divisions conduct a player evaluation prior to team selection.  Attendance at these sessions is mandatory.  Please arrive with your glove and tennis shoes.  Players may also bring their bat and helmet if they prefer to use those during batting evaluations.  Please see below for the times/dates of the ratings evaluations for each division.  All sessions are the Wheeling High School Field House:

  • Boys Seniors:  Completed
  • Boys Majors:   Completed
  • Boys Minors:  Completed
  • Boys Pintos:  No Ratings Performed
  • Girls Seniors:  Completed
  • Girls Majors: Completed
  • Girls Minors: No Ratings Performed
  • Girls Pintos: No Ratings Performed
  • T-Ball: No Ratings Performed

Volunteers Needed

PHWYBS is in need of volunteers to assist in the continued evolution of our program.  There are plenty of smaller roles available which can help provide an introduction to the organization without taking a great deal of time.  If you have an interest, email the League (info@phwybs.org) and inquire where you can help.  Currently, we need support in the following areas:

  • Mid-Season Stretch - help support our mid-season program
  • Pitch Hit and Run Contests
  • Parades
  • Flyers and Bandits Outings
  • Monitoring Fields and Equipment Boxes
  • Board Positions - several members of the Board have done their time and will be passing the torch at the conclusion of the 2010 season...give some thought to getting involved and taking a larger role in shaping the League in 2010 and 2011
