Poway Titan Celebrity Golf Classic and Auction
The Deron Johnson Memorial Golf Classic raised more than $100,000 in its eight years, all of which went directly into our baseball program. The Poway Titan baseball program is forever grateful to the Johnson family for their support of our program. The goal of this tournament/auction is to fund the Poway High School baseball program (uniforms, equipment, coaches' stipends, etc.) and also to establish a baseball scholarship fund for those promising scholar/athletes that need financial assistance to continue their studies and baseball careers.
This year's Classic will be held at Bernardo Heights Country Club on Monday, January 19, 2009. Golfers will receive a collector's golf shirt and tee packet at check-in. There will be a putting contest and lunch. The tournament is in a four-man scramble format with the shotgun start at 11:00. Each foursome will be joined by a sports or entertainment celebrity. Post-golf festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the main dining room of Bernardo Heights Country Club. You will mingle with celebrities while taking part in the silent auction. Dinner and a live auction will follow at 6:00. Since this is the main fundraiser for the baseball program, please bring a guest to this lively, gala event. There will be great auction items including trips, assorted packages, and sports memorabilia. Our contest prizes include . . .
