Former Pearland Oiler, Clay Hensley
signs with the Houston Astros
The Houston Astros signed a minor league contract with former Pearland Oiler Clay Hensley. Hensley has previously played for the San Deigo Padres and is famous for allowing Barry Bonds' 755th career home run.
Hensley was a centerfielder at Pearland High School class of 1997. He played for Alvin Community College and Lamar University and was drafted by the Giants in the 8th round as a pitcher in 2002.

Pearland Baseball Athletes Give Back to the Community by Adopting 
TASO Scholarship Tournament
Pearland Fall ball team battled their way to the Semi-Finals in the TASO Scholarship Tournament on Sunday after defeating Cy-Ridge in 8 innings 5-4. The Pearland team composed of selected Juniors and Seniors in the High School baseball class lost the battle to play in Minute Maid Park when Lamar shut Pearland down 5 – 0. The tournament began on Thursday, Septemeber 4 with 64 teams. The Pearland team ended the tournament with a respectable third place. Bellaire and Lamar will compete
