Fénix 89 Red: News: College Soccer News - Preseason Rankings and Games

Preseason league and national rankings are out and results of at least one preseason game are available.

BIG SKY CONFERENCE PREDICTIONS - Portland State University Vikings, home of Toni Carnovale are picked to finish 5th and Brandee Marone's University of Montana Grizzlies are picked to finish 4th in the Big Sky Conference in the preseason coaches poll. Both teams went to the Big Sky Conference tournament last year. 

WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY - Megan Chapin's WSU Cougars are ranked 21st in the preseason National Soccer Coaches Association of America national poll after their NCAA tournament appearance last year.

 DIVISION II PRESEASON RANKINGS - Western Washington University Vikings featuring defender Alicia Patten are ranked no. 12 and the University of Tampa Spartans, home of Charlotte White, are ranked 24th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America national poll, and Tampa is picked to finish 4th in the Sunshine State Conference this year by league coaches.  Both teams participated in the NCAA Division 2 tournament last year.

UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO - The University of San Francisco Dons played their first exhibition Game on August 13 against the University of California Davis and earned a 1-0 decision.  Merrit Peterson co-lead the Dons for shots on goal with two.
