The Philly Heat 14 and Under defeated the Village 39-38 on a put-back basket by Marque' Griffin with six seconds remaining. With Philly trailing 38-37 with 17 seconds left, the Village was set to run out the clock for the win, but Harold Hicks, Griffin and Rahquil Norton triple teamed the ball to get a clean steal. With 12 seconds left, "D. J." Newbill's shot missed, Hicks hustled for the board and missed a fade-away at eight seconds (he might have been fouled), before Griffin scooped up the final rebound and hit a power lay-up for the win.
Hicks led his team with 18 points and five assists. Newbill added 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Will Respes added eight points and eight boards..
