PHILLY HEAT SET TO COMPETE AT BALTIMORE METRO LEAGUE, 2007
The Philly Heat 14 and Under will compete in the Baltimore Metro League (Laurel MD Boys and Girls Club), starting on or about May 1, 2007. They also will compete in the Untouchable's League, Schuler ("Whittier")Recreation Center, 27th and Clearfield Street.

14 & UNDER ARE CHAMPIONS OF "BEST OF PHILLY" FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR

The Philly Heat 14 and Under overcame all the opposition, to win the Best of Philly" 14 and Under title. The event, sponsored by DeBose and Pembleton was held at Finley Recreation Center and other sites.
In the title game, a 54-44 success versus Reach One Teach One, Philly came out hot and stayed that way for much of the contest. Marque' Griffin led the Heat with 16 points, followed closely by Javez Reynolds 15 points and Dawight Whitmore's 14 points. Cardell Hellems addded 10 points and 11 rebounds. D. J. Newbill had a "Double-Double" with 10 assists and 12 rebounds.
Philly was 3-0 in pool play. They defeated Brotherhood 62-38 (Reynolds dropped 16 points and Newbill 14), beat Team Philly 56-44 (Whitmore 20 points Griffin 15 and Newbill 14) and ran past Old School 83-29 (Whitmore 24 points, Newbill & Reynolds 18 and Griffin 17).
