Hawks: Welcome

Welcome to the 2009 Hawks football season!!

Our mission is to instill discipline and self-respect in our players while following our motto of Family, School and Football. We teach our players how to work as a team and respect both teammates and opponents. There are no tryouts -- all children play!

We are very excited about the upcoming year. This year we are looking to field at least three tackle teams and possibly a flag team. Our first practice will be August 3, 2009 at 6:00 PM at Mayors Park. This is located on River Road in Cold Spring, which is a continuation of Fair St.

Practices will be Monday through Friday 6:00 to 8:00 PM through the Labor Day Holiday. Once school starts practices will be once to twice a week with games on the weekends.  Eat light before practice and make sure you drink plenty of fluids throughout the day when it is hot. Wear light color clothing and wear your cleats.

All children ages 5 to 12 are encouraged to sign up now! Divisions of play are:

Tiny Mite Tackle

5 - 7 Year Olds (35-75 lbs.)

Mighty Mite Tackle

7-9 Year Olds (45-90 lbs.)

Junior Pee Wee Tackle

8-10 Year Olds (60-105 lbs.)

11 Year Old older lighter (60-85 lbs.)

Pee Wee Tackle

9 - 11 Year Olds (75-120 lbs.)

12 Year Old older lighter (75-100 lbs.)

NOTICE: For safety reasons if you child does not weigh in the ranges listed above they will not be allowed to participate. These are national rules, not those of our association.

To sign up for the 2009 season, fill out all the forms in the Handouts section to the left along with a copy of the child's birth certificate and most recent report card and mail them with your payment (checks should be made out to Philipstown Pop Warner) to:

We are offering a $25 discount if you get a new player to sign up that has not played before -- and they will get a $25 discount as well!

 Bring multiple new players and receive multiple discounts!
