 Lightning Boys to square off against top teams at Ukrainian Nationals Tourney

Lightning open tourney by facing two-time State Cup Champs North Union, and Ukrainain Natl's Rangers, who are the Delco League and UJSL Champs. A team can't find tougher games than these. In first game against N.Union the Lightning jump out to a 1-0 lead at half. Great effort so far. N.Union comes out strong and  ties game and on a awesome shot go up 2-1.. game goes back and forth the rest of the way and Union seal game with a goal with 3 minutes left. Great job but a few mistakes and the N.Union make the most of them. Next up the Rangers. 0-0 at half then the Lightning burst out to a 3-0 lead with 12min left. The boys,starting to feel effects of a long day and the heat let up and the Rangers storm back to tie it with about 4min left. Lightning boys dig deeper and pressure Ukies and earn a PK goal with 2mins left. Once again the boys let up looking very tired and the Rangers get a last minute goal to tie it 4-4.. Very entertaining game. But one thing was proven today. Lightning boys can play with the top teams in the state and the other clubs are noticing!!! Great effort by the boys. Today they will play top Delaware club Hockession. On the line with be a chance to get to the Championship game... GO Lightning.

Lightning Boys Lose 2-1 to North Union in the State Cup Quarterfinals.

They started off very slow. No excuses though because the North Union team was playing great. After 5 minutes into the 2nd half things began to change. The Lightning boys really put in an all out effort and closed the gap to 2-1 with a corner goal.  More effort and energy lead to about 10 more chances but were denied the equalizing goal by NU's tough "D" , and the Lightning just run out of gametime. What a great effort. SO proud of each of you. The loss stings but when the opposing coach praises you and when the coaches see that kind of effort. It speaks volume about how close we are. Keep up the great work and be proud of what you have accomplished!! We the coaches are!!!

Lightning Boy Defeat Berks Rage 3-1 and earn way into State Cups Quarterfinals 

 The Lightning boys needed to win to advance and boy did they show up. It was a great showing after a flat game the day before. But the bottom line is the boys played well and now will face a very tough North Union team in a quarterfinals match up. Only 8 teams left in the state cups. The Lightning have a tall task infront of them with an almost 3 hour ride then a tough game, but the boys should be really proud of how far they have already come. Not many teams can say they achieved what the Lightning have in State Cups !!!   Go Lightning!!

Lightning Boys Start off State Cups with a great 4-0 win over Parkwood United 

  Lightning boys take what they had learned over the off season and win a big first game in the state cups 4-0 over Parkwood United. The task doesn't get easier when we travel to a strong Lower Merion team. Then the next day we travel to Reading to face the Rage team. Boy also raised record to 2-0 in the UJSL (U10) with a win over Lower South and another 3-0 over Parkwood United.. Great Job Lightning

Lightning Boys Battle their way into the UJSL Finals!!!!!!!!

Lightning boys defeat the previously undefeat Parkwood United 2-1 to earn a berth in the UJSL finals. The boys really implemented what the coaches have taught at practice and combined it with their hard work and desire to win and came away showing everyone that the Lightning are a team that is really putting it all together as a soccer team and are learning to play the game correctly!! They have a combined 16-4-1 record playing top teams in the UJSL and Inter-County league. Amazing. Keep up the great work and good luck in the Championship game!!!!!

       Lightning boys go undefeated at UJSL 2010 Columbus Cup 

 Great weekend of soccer as the boys go undefeated. Each game was close and the team put forth the effort to earn a trophy. Great work boys!!!! The boys also remain undefeated  in UJSL at a record of 7-0-0..  Each week is a big game but the boys just keep pulling out wins. All the coaches and parents are so proud of our Lightning boys. Keep up the great work!!!      

 Lightning play some beautiful soccer and gain 3-0 over a Tough Torresdale team

The Lightning boys really showed what they have learned from Coach Tony, by settling the ball and stringing 3 and 4 touch passes in a row for some nice goals. That's how soccer is supposed to be played. Great soccer boys. The two wins this weekend(We also be Southampton 1-0) raise the Lightning's combined record to an impressive 7-1. Wow..Keep learning boys..

   Lightning Boys beat S.Philly 4-2 and raise record to 4-0 in UJSL 

Lightning play alittle sloppy but earn a 4-2 win and remain undefeated in the UJSL. That's great stuff boys.  Lightning boys are a combined 5-1 so far in the UJSL and INTERCounty. Each week the opponents seem to get better so we will have to continue to train hard and learn. Great efforts so far boys. GO LIGHTNING.

Lightning boys play splendidly, but get unlucky and lose to Buckingham 1-0

 Lightning boys play much better but end up a little unlucky losing 1-0. The boys improved play lead to a few chances but get unlucky when they hit 3 posts during the game. Excellent game by both teams. That's the bad news..The good news is how well the boys played(what a difference 24 hours makes) and that the Lightning have a new trainer. Tony D'Ambrosio has agreed to work with the boys. I know this will benefit each of our kids as they get to learn for Tony's vast knowledge, and success of soccer and lead this talented team to where we all they can go. Welcome aboard Tony. And keep up the great efforts Lightning. GO Lightning

 Lightning open UJSL 2010 season with a win over the PSC Flash  4-3

 Lightning boys make things tough on themselves but eventually get a 4-1 lead and hold onto win the opener....

    Lightning boys battle some top competition, but come up a little short.

Lightning boys lose all 3 games but learn alot.  Although we didn't get the wins, we did get a good gauge of how far we have to go before we compete against the top teams again. The boys did show great spirit by at first losing 7-3 on Saturday vs Upper Makefield and the very next day we only lost 1-0 against the same team. We will continue to train hard and work hard during the games, and the coaches are betting that the Lightning will show everyone how much we have improved in the next tournament. Right now it's time for the UJSL and InterCounty seasons. Again we will face very good competition, but the Coaches are sure the Lightning boys will be ready to battle every game. GO LIGHTNING!!!!!!! 

Lightning get ready for 2010 Ross/Haney and Kick off the new seasons.

         Lightning boys have worked hard and learned what the trainers have taught them and are now ready to show off their new skills. Over the last month the boys have really focused on soccer and the team is better for it. We open against two teams from the top clubs in the area, Lower Merion and Upper Makefield.  Lets have fun boys!!! GO Lightning

                     Lightning make it to Beach Blast Championship Game       

 Lightning boys play tremendously all weekend and earn way into championship game...Lightning defeat a strong Inter-Lodi team 3-2 then defeat Beachwood BeachDogs 7-2 on the first day. Next day we play Wyoming Valley and the winner gets to go onto the Championship game!! Well every Lightning player comes ready to play and the Lightning boys earn a trip to the title game with an outstanding team win 7-2..In Championship game the boys seemed alittle out of sync and end up losing but still got nice trophies, and the weekend on a whole was a fantastic time. Great Going LIGHTNING!!!!!!!! 

   PSC Lightning will continue to have Try-Outs all through the summer. We will have players train with us as we get ready for Beach Blast and Summer 5v5...We will play in Inter-County(Sat) and UJSL (sun)in Fall of 2010

                                 BIG NEWS ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Lightning defeat Lighthouse8-2 to raise our Spring League record to 5-0.....ALSO in the big news.. FOX Philly Live has contacted Philly Soccer Club and requested that the PSC LIGHTNING come down to the show on April 15th and have a live interview. What a great honor. To the victors go the spoils :)

 PSC LIGHTNING are the...CHAMPIONS!!!Again!              

The Lightning boys complete the sweep. They win 2-1 over Fishtown to take the Indoor Championship after winning the outdoor Championship last fall. It was pure hard work that earned this championship.Also the boys have improved after every game and really are learning at an amazing clip. It is thrilling for the coaches to watch the great progress each player is making. Keep up the great work!!!  Back-to-Back Championships. Simply Amazing!!!

 After two Championship seasons the boys now head back outdoors and will play UJSL Spring League.  The coaches are excited to see how well the boys do once they get onto the grass fields and apply all that they have learned..I can't wait...
