Equipment Theft & Donation Information
Saturday night vandals broke into the Minor Field storage shed. Two pitching machines -one of them brand new-, a field chalking machine and some umpire safety gear was stolen. Volunteers were on the field all morning inventorying the loss, repairing the damage, and helping the Petaluma Police with information regarding the crime. The local media has featured this event on the Local News Chanels 2, 5, 7 and 4. Additionally I have been contacted by local radio stations and the Argus Courier sports writer. I am in the process of an insurance claim for some/all of the equipment stolen. I will know more at a later date. Regardless, we will be purchasing new equipment to keep our league moving forward. Needless to say, it has been a whirlwind two days!
The Petaluma and Bay Area communities have been unbelievably supportive and generous! Offers of donations to help PVLL are coming in from all areas, from private individuals to local businesses. PVLL has been trying to buy a shipping container to place on the minor field to use as storage, for some time now. We use two in the major field area for storage, as they are sturdy, waterproof, etc. We are going to do this ~ and we are going to do this with the help of the many, many amazingly generous people that we live with, work with, play with and do business with. So many requests for information are coming in from so many directions, we have to streamline the information.
Please advise any persons wishing to donate to contact Tyler Terrell (tyler2001@earthlink.net) with any questions, and if mailing donations send to: Petaluma Valley Little League P.O. BOX 5204, Petaluma, CA 94955-5204. Please know that BASEBALL WILL CONTINUE! This will not stop our league or hold us down. A loyal volunteer has donated their private pitching machine to use. This is a great learning opportunity for our children, and a jolting reminder that - bad things happen - but GOOD acts out-weigh them easily, 10 to 1. Thank you everyone!

The 2012 season will continue the exciting new changes that we introduced back in 2009. The PVLL will continue to "re-draft" each team, at each playing level, every year. We will also continue our four-team "double-elimination" championship tournament to determine our Major Division champion.
We are offering sign-ups in person, at the dates and times listed below. For convenience, we are accepting payment by credit card via Online Registration (details in the related story below). Note that the fee associated with paying by credit card will be added to the transaction. The PVLL will not process registration refunds after tryouts have been conducted.
We look forward to seeing everyone at sign-ups and we look forward to another great year at Petaluma Valley Little League.
