Welcome to the Petaluma Valley Little League Home Page
Western Region-2
The PVLL was established in 1971 to provide a Little League program for the children of the southeastern part of Petaluma bordered on the north by E. Washington St. and Sonoma Mountain Rd.; on the west by U.S. 101 and the Petaluma River; on the south by Highway 37; and on the east by the crest of the Sonoma Mountains (crossing Highway 116 at County Dump Rd.).

Our home field is Murphy Field (located in McDowell Park). The field is named for Richard F. Murphy and was dedicated on July 29, 1995. There is a plaque in front of Murphy Field noting Rich's place in PVLL history.

1995 also marks the high point in PVLL history as our 11-12 year-old All-Stars made a run at the Little League World Series! The team's remarkable summer ended just two victories shy of Williamsport. A runner-up finish at the Western Region Tournament in San Bernardino, CA and a Northern California State Championship mark the farthest any PVLL team has advanced in tournament play.

The PVLL is a member of California District 35 which represents Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino counties in the North Bay Area. The PVLL is a baseball-only chartered Little League open to children age 7 to 18.

11-12 Year-Old All-Stars Finish 2nd in Northern California!!!

After climbing through the elimination bracket to win 4 straight games at the Northern California Division II tournament in Alameda, the PVLL all-stars were eliminated last night by Pleasanton American L.L. by a score of 4-1.  Pleasanton advances to the Western Region tournament in San Bernardino as the Northern California champions.

Our Valley all-stars put on quite a show playing 6 heart-stopping games during the Divisional tournament!!  We lost our opening game to Pleasanton American last Thursday night (July 24) by a score of 10-2.  We came back the next night to defeat Briarwood-El Camino (Santa Clara) by a score of 12-4.  We won an epic 11-inning game on Saturday morning (and afternoon!) defeating Woodcreek (Roseville) by a score of 11-9.  We defeated Turlock American East on Sunday afternoon by a score of 13-5 to reach the championship series where we gave Pleasanton American their 1st loss of the summer by a score of 4-3 in 7 innings on Monday night!!  The road to Williamsport ended with Tuesday's loss.

This marks PVLL's best Northern California finish since also finishing 2nd in 1999.  The overall record of 13-3 is the League's 2nd best record in history!!  Congratulations to the boys for all their hard work this summer ... it really paid off!!  It was a summer full of great memories!!
