All prospective 2008/09 PYHA Travel League Players, For the upcoming 2008/09 season PYHA will be purchasing new Home and Away Travel League jerseys for the Mite through Bantam divisions. A mock-up of the jerseys is shown below. We will be keeping the same color and design scheme but will be going with a more traditional look on the front of the jersey. Not shown are the Peoria Rivermen logos that we will wear on each shoulder. The jerseys will be custom made by AthleticKnit of the same durable “pro stock” material that we have used in the past. PYHA will continue to purchase travel jerseys for all players selected for travel teams. In order to protect our sizable investment in these jerseys, we will continue to require a $100/player fully refundable jersey bond. As well, commencing this season, we have contracted with a local vendor to have all nameplates put on and taken off professionally (if a team chooses to use nameplates). This will help to limit the damage that has occurred in the past on some of the jerseys. In addition, for the upcoming season, we are giving players the option to purchase their own PYHA team jerseys. This will enable players the opportunity to select their own number, maintain and keep their own jerseys. To be clear, this is an entirely optional program. As always, PYHA will be buying enough jerseys for all players. I have tried to answer some of the questions that come to mind with such a program (attached Q&A), but if there is anything that I’ve missed, please feel free to call. In general:
- Applications, and payment for jerseys are due by May 31, 2008 ($75/jersey, $150 for the set).
- Number assignments will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Only one number assignment for each age division.
- Please read the application and the information enclosed carefully. I cannot stress enough that a player might be able to wear their purchased jerseys for only one season in certain cases due to a conflict in numbering.
Please email me a copy of your application to confirm that your desired number is available. This must be followed by a hard-copy of your signed application with payment by the May 31, 2008 deadline. Sample jerseys should be at Owens by Monday to verify your size. Call with any questions. Paul
