Game balls
Home team supplies new game and good back up ball.

Pre-game warm ups
Visiting team warms up on playing field 15 minutes before game time.

Home team takes the playing field 8 minutes before game time for warm up and remains for start of game.

Miss your time, you do not get to take infield.

PITCHING RULES
Any player on the team roster may pitch.

Only 3 players of league age 12 may be used as pitchers during a calendar week. The combined total of their innings shall not exceed 12 during any given calendar week.

A player who pitches in less than four innings during a game, must have 1 calendar day of rest (ie. pitched two innings on Tuesday, cannot pitch again until Thursday).

A player who pitches in four or more innings during a game, must have 3 calendar days rest. (ie. pitched five innings on Friday, cannot pitch again until Tuesday.

One pitch, including a single warm-up pitch from the mound, shall constitute a one full inning pitched.

A pitcher can pitch a maximum 6 innings per calendar week, Sunday through Saturday.
Once a pitcher is removed, he cannot pitch again that game.

No coach may warm up a pitcher at anytime before or during the game. Must use a player and the player must wear mask, helmet, and cup.

MINOR RULES
All players bat. Order stays the same.
Players can sub in and out.
NO 12-year-old pitchers. Check their Little League age.
Players sit defensively only one inning at a time.
5 runs per innings 1-4. 5th & 6th innings are unlimited.

MAJOR RULES
Only 3 twelve year old pitchers per week. 12 innings total maximum for 12 year old pitchers in 1 week. Check their Little League age.

Mandatory play requirements: Each player needs to play 6 defensive outs and 1 at bat per game. A time at bat only is fulfilled if that batter is put out or reaches a base. A shortened completed official game (ie. run rule, weather, or time limit) does not excuse the mandatory play requirement. Any player that does not get required time will start the next physical game where they must meet their previous remaining defensive outs and time at bat plus their new game defensive outs and time at bat before they can be substituted for. If a player does not get mandatory play in a completed game, the game can be forfeited and the board will discipline the coach.

Once a starter is removed, he can re-enter the game any place in the batting order provided that the player who substituted for the starter has fulfilled their mandatory play requirements.

Only Starters may re-enter the game.

New Rules for 2002:

Rule 1.15(a) The pitcher's glove shall be uniform in color, including all stitching, lacing, and webbing. The pitcher's glove may not be white or gray, but may be color(s) that are not distracting to the batter.

Rule 4.05 The (base) coaches shall not leave their respective dugouts until the pitcher has completed his/her preparatory pitches to the catcher.

Rule 4.05 The local league's Board of Directors may elect to use two (2) adult base coaches at any level of play. Such election must be made prior to the start of the season. However, note that one adult coach (not just a parent) must be in the dugout at all times.

Rule 4.07 Any manager, coach, or player ejected from a game is suspended for his or hers team's next physically played game.

Rule 7.14 Once each inning a player who has not appeared in the batting order may be used as a special pinch runner for any offensive player. The player for whom the pinch runner runs is not subject to removal from the lineup. If the pinch runner remains in the game as a substitute offensive player, or batter, the player may not be used again as a pinch runner.

Hit by Pitch
If a pitcher hits 4 batters in a game the Peoria-Sweetwater Little League Board of Directors requires that pitcher's manager remove that pitcher from the game. This is a local requirement and can only be enforced by the Board.
