Welcome to the Pembroke Pines Optimist

Piranhas Soccer program

We offer a Volunteer driven not-for-profit soccer program serving Eastern Pembroke Pines, and surrounding areas. Our fields and clubhouse is located at 7400 Pines Blvd (just east of University Drive).

We have apx 400 boys and girls who play on teams ranging in age from 4 to 16 (child MUST reach the age of 4 prior to the start of season). The games are held on one of our four soccer fields, and at other local parks that are affiliated with our club.  We are affiliated with the Greater Hollywood Soccer League (Recreational play), and have some travel (competitive) teams playing in FLUGSA and South Florida United.   Our U-6 co-ed teams will have all practices and games in-house.  Each team will be scheduled for at least one game per week, and at least 10 games during the season.  U8 and above games are often played on Saturdays.  U6 games will be played at our park, on a day to be later determined (Last year was on Tuesdsays and Thursdays). The season runs from the Middle of November through mid March, with no games scheduled while school is out during the Christmas holiday break.  Games run approximately one hour in length and practices will be held at the coach's convenience.  Most teams will practice 2 times per week, and always after 6:00 pm on weekdays.   

Registration (Recreational) is $145.00 per child living in Pembroke Pines, check (payable to PPO), cash or credit card.  Non-residents of Pembroke Pines are subject to an additional $65.00 out-of-city fee per child.  Siblings will receive a $10 discount, starting with the cost of the second child. Registration covers all the cost of uniforms, equipment, referee fees and insurance.  You are responsible for providing shin-guards and soccer cleats for the child.  All players are FYSA registered.

Registration is available online using a credit or debit card.  Soccer administrators are available at the clubhouse for in person registration on Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00AM to noon. 

 

If you are registering in person, please come down with a passport sized photograph.  All NEW players must also bring a birth certificate or passport for age verification.  If you live in Pembroke Pines, please bring a form of identification to prove residency.  Bring your soccer players with you, so they can be sized for a uniform!

If you are registering online (link on top left of this page), you will be given instructions on emailing us this information, or may drop it off at the clubhouse at a normal registration session.  If you would like to mail us these items, please email us at pposoccer@yahoo.com for the address.  Please make sure the child's name is on all items you bring/send to us.

Returned checks are subject to a $30.00 service charge and must be replaced with cash.  Refunds, minus costs incurred, may be given prior to the start of the season.  Once uniforms are handed out, there will be no refunds.

WE NEED COACHES! Get involved with this exciting program and at the same time help out the youth of our community.  We also need support staff ... please get involved!!!
