The Tournament is still ALIVE!!!

The Park City Youth Program was excited about the 12th Annual Al Riffel Baseball Tournament, originally scheduled for June 20th & 21st.  We were ready for a weekend of baseball fun!  But, Mother Nature had other plans and unfortunately, we had to cancel the tournament.  We thought we could salvage the fields and have them ready to play after a long day of rain on Saturday, but just as we finished things up late Saturday night, here came more rain.  The fields just couldn't hold any more water.

But, the PCYP does not give up that easy.  Coaches...teams...parents and fans...get ready for the PCYP July 4th Blowout 2009!  All of the information you need about this tournament can be found right HERE.  We're looking forward to seeing you there and celebrating Independence Day with a true American sport.

SALUTE!!!

2009 Baseball/Softball Sign-Ups

Sign-ups are underway for the 2009 season.  If you've missed a date already, don't worry.  There are several more chances for you to take part in our season this summer.  Sign-up dates can be found on our calendar or you can view the flier in our handouts section.  Either way, we hope to see you on one of those dates to join in on the fun.

If you have any questions regarding sign-ups, our contact information can be found at the bottom of the menu bar to the left.

PCYP on KWCH

Our fearless leader and President of the Park City Youth Program, Russ Baxter, was interviewed by Michael Schwanke, a reporter and anchor at KWCH 12 in Wichita.

Russ spoke about the damage to the fields and the future of the youth program.

September Flood
Flood Waters Cover Hap McLean Park in Sept. 2008
Sunday, January 4
The Great September Flood

More than 10 inches of rain fell in some parts of Park City on September 12, and Hap McLean Park, home to the ball diamonds used by PCYP, did not escape the wrath of Mother Nature.

Rather than describe the damage done to the fields, we've posted pictures of the damage in our Albums section.  Please take a moment to look at those and see for yourself.

If you or someone you know is interested in helping repair the damage as the season approaches, please contact us via e-mail at parkcityyouthprogram@yahoo.com.
