PBGSL will again be offering free catchers clinics to girls 8 -16 years old who are registered for the 2009 season. The clinics will be given at Farnsworth Middle School on the Fridays of Jan. 30th, and Feb. 27th, 2009. The clinics will run from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, and will be limited to 20 girls per session. Equipment will be provided to girls who do not have their own catchers gear. If you are interested, see Handouts for more information, or please contact Sue, schishs@aol.com or call 456-4765 Travel Tryouts Pine Bush will be holding tryouts for their 12U, 14U, and 16U summer travel teams sometime in January/February with the exact dates to be posted soon. The PBGSL Summer Travel program provides the experienced player with the opportunity to play softball in a more competitive environment than our recreational league. Travel games are played against the highest level of competition available. Summer Travel Teams emphasize improving individual and team skills and winning games. If you are interested in managing one of the travel teams please submit an email to pbgsl@live.com stating your interest and coaching experience. Drop and Shop Camp Frozen Ropes is offering a "Drop and Shop" camp for PBGSL families. It gives parents an opportunity to drop off their player at Frozen Ropes while the parents do their Holiday shopping. The date of the camp is December 13th. Friday Night Winter Clinics * Beginning Friday November 7th (7:30pm - 9pm) at FarnsworthThe winter training clinics are designed to increase the players’ skill level in all phases of the game of softball. Concentration will be on hitting each week coupled with throwing, catching, fielding and game situations. The players must be registered for the 2009 season and is open to players playing 8U’s and up. As always, we welcome parents to stay and help with the clinic. We highly encourage coaches to participate to increase their knowledge base and to help work with the girls. When: Fridays beginning November 7th running through the 1st week of March Clinics will not be held on: January 30th - Catcher's Clinic is being held February 27th - Catcher's Clinic is being held Days when school is closed (vacation schedules) During inclement weather when the local area news channels have Guilderland School District as canceled.
