OVERALL RECORD: 10-4

PARSIPPANY 15, PARSIPPANY HILLS 12
Just like their varsity peers, the freshman Red Hawks opened the year with a come-from-behind win over their crosstown rivals in a game played at Par Hills.
Down 12-9 entering the fifth, Parsippany rallied for five runs and held on to give Charraye Shihadeh the victory on the mound in relief of Rebekka Hunt.


PARSIPPANY 17, MORRIS HILLS 12
The freshmen Red Hawks ran their record to 2-0 after taking the lead with six-run second inning. Doubles by Butera, Saunders, Young, and Maynard and triples by Hunt and Saunders led the way. Rebekka Hunt earned her first win with 9 strike outs.   

MONTVILLE 17, PARSIPPANY 6
The Hawk frosh suffered their first loss in a game halted by the 10-run rule after five innings. Parsippany managed just two hits, a triple by Melissa Mele and a single by Christina Simmons.

PARSIPPANY 23, HANOVER PARK 6
The girls bounced back from their first loss of the season by pelting the Hornets by the 10-run rule. The Red Hawks collected 26 hits, led by Christina Simmons with five hits, including three doubles and a triple. Lisa Butera pitched the whole game to earn her first win with three strikeouts, six walks, and only two hits. She helped herself with four hits at the plate.
Nicole Paterno and Melissa Maynard had three hits each while Kelly Young, Melissa Mele, Heather Brienza and Kari Whalen had two each. Young had a double.


PARSIPPANY 14, DOVER 4
Rebekka Hunt pitched a one-hitter and Christina Simmons homered twice, doubled and tripled. Hunt struck out seven and walked 10 in a game stopped by the 10-run rule after five innings. The Red Hawks pounded out 17 hits including three by Melissa Mele (including a triple), two by Melissa Maynard (including a double), two by Kelly Young (including a triple), and two by Hunt (triple and homerun.

MOUNT OLIVE 20, PARSIPPANY 15
The Red Hawks were unable to come back from a 10-3 third-inning deficit, even after their bats heated up. Down 20-10, Parsippany staged a valient comeback effort in the seventh inning a three-run homer by Lisa Butera and a double by and RBI single by Christina Simmons. Rebekka Hunt and Butera shared the pitching duties and allowed nine Marauder hits.



PARSIPPANY 20, HANOVER PARK 16
The Red Hawks came back from a 12-4 second inning deficit, scoring 16 runs between the second and fourth innings and pounding out 23 hits en route to their fifth win of the year. The offensive highlights: four hits from Kelly Young (including a double and triple) and Paige Berger (including a double), three hits from Rebekka Hunt (including a triple), Lisa Butera (including a double) and Christina Simmons, two hits from Melissa Maynard and Marlee Cignarella, and one hit each from Heather Brienza and Melissa Mele.
Lisa Butera (four strikeouts, five hits) got the win in relief of Rebekka Hunt (three strikeouts, one hit) in the second inning.


PARSIPPANY 22, PARSIPPANY HILLS 12
The Red Hawk freshmen defeated their crosstown rivals with another come from behind win. Down 9-2 entering the bottom of the third, the Hawks produced a 10-run rally led by Christina Simmons' pair of RBI triples. The Vikings came back in the top of the fourth with three runs to tie the score, but the Hawks bounced back with nine runs over the next two innings to end the game by the mercy rule. Simmons and Rebekka Hunt has three hits each and Kelly Young had two. Marissa Arvidson relieved Hunt in the second inning and earned the win with three strikeouts, two walks and two hits.

MORRIS HILLS 11, PARSIPPANY 7
Marissa Arvidson turned in a complete game five-hitter no walks and three strikeouts but the Lady Knights took advantage of unearned runs. Christina Simmons had two of PHS' six hits, including a two-run triple. Carrie Whalen, Kim Tanella, Kelly Young and Nicole Paterno had the other hits.


PARSIPPANY 15, DOVER 5
The Red Hawks banged out 12 hits while Lisa Butera and Marissa Arvidson combined to hold the Tigers to three. Butera helped her own cause with three hits and Crystalyn Saunders had two.

PARSIPPANY 10, MENDHAM 8
Reliver Marissa Arvidson shut out the Lady Minutemen in the bottom of the fifth to preserve a victory in a game that was shortened by time contraints. The Hawks rallied from a 4-2 deficit with three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth. Parsippany banged out 14 hits, led by two each from Kelly Young, Christina Simmons (including an RBI triple), Kim Tanella (including a double), Rebekka Hunt and Melissa Maynard (two RBI).



PARSIPPANY 7, WEST ESSEX 1
Marissa Arvidson scattered six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk to lead the Red Hawks to an impressive victory. Kelly Young had three of Parsippany's six hits. Carrie Whalen supplied a two-run single and Nicole Paterno drove in another run with a single.

MOUNT OLIVE 16, PARSIPPANY 6
The Red Hawks fell in five innings when Mount Olive pounded out 14 hits. For PHS, Christina Simmons had three hits, including a double, and Carrie Whalen and Kelly Young had two hits apiece. Melissa Maynard chipped in with a two-run double.

PARSIPPANY 15, MENDHAM 5
The freshmen Red Hawks ended their outstanding season with a victory in a five-inning game ended by the mercy rule. Rebekka Hunt got the win, working the first two innings and the fifth while allowing one hit and no runs. Lisa Butera pitched the third and fourth, allowing one hit. Homers by Hunt and Kim Tanella highlighted an 11-hit attack. Tanella, Hunt, Melissa Maynard and Melissa Andrecio had two hits each. Nicole Paterno tripled.
