Concession Stand Team Volunteer Schedule 2009
During the week, please have the first set of volunteers arrive as close to 4:45 PM as possible to get the concession stand up and running. This year games begin at 6 PM during the week. Shifts during the week will probably be 4:45 – 8:00.
Currently, there are no 8:00 PM games scheduled during the week, however, that may change when we start putting in make up games. If that is the case, then concession stand coverage will go from 4:45 until 9:00 during the week.
On the weekend, we need volunteers to arrive at 9:30 AM. The schedule shows that the final set of volunteers go until 7:30 PM. However, please note that the current schedule is based on the last game of the evening being a 5:30 start time on Saturday. In the event we have an 8:00 PM game, the team that has the second shift should anticipate providing coverage until 9:30 PM.
In the event of a rainout, the team or teams assigned will be asked to provide volunteers for the concession stand IF a team is not already assigned to the evening or Saturday. For instance, if games are rained out on a Monday and are rescheduled for a Wednesday, the team assigned to Monday will be asked to cover on the Wednesday – rainout make up day. Normally, a rainout doesn’t get rescheduled in the same week – so there should be about a week’s advance notice for concession stand coverage.
Please remember that our concession stand is what helps us keep costs down for players and without the volunteerism of help at the counters, the program would be impacted. Your willingness to put in a few hours twice a season (in most cases – there are a few ‘die-hards’ out there) makes a huge difference and we THANK YOU.
Teams: You can split the time anyway you desire – 1 hour shifts, 2 hour shifts, etc. There needs to be at least 3 people in the concession stand manning the counters during the assigned time. We ask that the volunteers be age 14 or over and one adult present if 2, 14 year olds are volunteering. Volunteers can be parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends of the family, siblings (age 14 or older) etc. We’ll help you ‘learn the ropes’ and hopefully have fun while you’re in the concession stand.
